The game has made incredible strides from it's initial release. I can see a general consensus of the player community talking more about the game content, and less about the lack there of. SE is definatly making the right steps to get people to commit to the game, and to try out the game AGAIN, but what about for the people who have never tried it? The unfortunate thing is that people tend to focus more on the bad than the good in almost everything, and in the case of this game some of the most popular threads of information are about the initial game, not the game that is available today. It's in light of this that I believe that SE could benefit from a word-of-mouth campaign that would encourage the current players/fans of the game to generate new content and interest in the game.
That is a very broad thing to make an attempt at, but one idea would be a "friend-trial" system, where a current player would be given a code that can be given to one new person, giving them a one week demo. Or maybe they will just have a good advertisement/demo campaign after their v2.0 trailer at E3 to spark some attention.
This is just a thought, there are countless ways more player interest could be achieved, I'm just curious about the communities thoughts on trying to generate more interest and information about the Final Fantasy XIV we know and love today.
