    Do you think Melee DPS should have a weak AoE around lv16 for the very first dungeon?

    Cuz, honestly, playing any melee before they access their first AoE skill is a suffering in pre-45 dungeons. If you're unlucky to get into a two melee DPS party in low-level contents, the only one who can AoE DPS is the tank. It makes fighting two groups of monsters or more so painful. Not help that single-target rotation is incomplete and boring too.



    I believe a throw-away AoE for each melee class would be nice. These low-level AoE skills should be stand alone and not get any combo upgrade, with a potency like 80-100 (as long as they cause more total damage on 3 monsters and more). Their only purpose is to help with early dungeon contents, and can be forgotten once you access a more proper AoE skill post job-change, so it won't cause any skill bloat. Kinda like Black Mage's Blizzard II or healers' Cure I/Physick/Bebefict I, which you use when there are no other better spells available.



    Nothing game-breaking. Just something that helps smooth out the early contents.

    Everyone should have access to aoe at that level. The fact that it's not the case, is just plain bad design.

    Exactly. As it is, it's insanely unbalanced at low levels and it's a shame that nobody seems to care. I don't like feeling compelled to run every ldr as a dancer because it's power is just so wildly ahead of the curve in anything under level 60.

    Please give the melee AoE at lv16.
    The fact that all melees learn their AoE at different levels too is silly.

    Naw, everyone having aoes trivializes mobs pulls. Like just remove 95% of aoe skills.

    Nah, I think railroading lower end dungeons to be exactly like high end ones would be bad for newbies. Not every job needs to be at parity in every piece/every era of content.

    Yes.

    Every melee/tank should get their 1-2-3 combo, an oGCD and an aoe by lv15. 5 buttons will not melt new players brains. It just leaves a bad first impression of the game as being far slower and more boring than it really is. The concern about trivializing dungeons that aren't even a challenge in the first place is nonsense, especially when classes like DNC already have aoe and it's fine.

    I don't think it's needed. It teaches you at that level to pay attention to enmity levels.

    These boards really are Earth 2. We actually have people defending not everyone having AOE abilities at low level because of "difficulty" in freaking Totorak.
