The countdown to Citadel Buster was one of my favorite memories in FFXI. Everyone panics until they find out who the unlucky sap was.. then the target had to run away from the group and take their punishment.
Usually it was a taru, and without exception, they would always do the "panic dance" as it hit them.
Genius battle.

Pick any questions you like pal, and please word these better if you can xD
1) Are buffing abilities (ex:life surge) going to usable on the run in 2.0, or will these abilities still lock us in the squatting animation?
2) How big are the new 2.0 maps going to be compared to the current Eorzea regions?
3) Is there a chance we will see non-fightable creatures in 2.0? Creatures that are just there to add life to the lifeless world? Ex: Turtles crawling out of the ocean on the beach to lay eggs? lol
4) Are there going to be real time events planned that all players could join participate in? Example from GW, Dragon flies out from ocean, landing on a tower, crushing it, and proceeds to fly down on level ground where anyone around can start beating up on it, lots of dynamic phases begin depending on how many people are there.
5) Any chance XI Campaign-like events will be implemented?
6) Will content finder work for primals, and all instanced dungeons?
7) Will Dragoon be getting a more jump/teleport abilities like elusive jump?! xD please~
8) Is there going to be more amazing vistas to gaze at, better scenic views?
9) Will there be areas we have to quest for to unlock (Ex: Aht Urghan)
10) How many forms of PVP are you planning on implementing other than GC vs GC and colliseum?
11) Will there be free for all pvp events/matches? Ex: Dragoon only, whitemage only events!
12) how is the new world coming along? Teasers yet?!
13) Will new voices be added to the current character creation voice list?
14) Will we ever see an in-game Beastiary? (pokedex!)
15) Will housing be as customizable as Ultima Online housing? I know Yoshi played this!
16) will there be more paths to traverse, optional paths to get to different places in the new maps?
17) Do you feel like you have created a breathtaking, living world, where adventurers like myself could spend the rest of their life in, discovering new places and seeing countless wonders across the globe?
18) I remember (or dreamed) mention of either Yoshi or Tanaka talking about being able to own linkshell ships, and use them to sail the seas to pvp isles and such. Is this still in the works or was that old Tanaka vision. This wasn't the ship/cake building video btw.
19) Will we be able to search for specific materia numbers in the wards? Ex: I want to find only matera with 50 crit attk power instead of only seeing 45's taking over the list.
18) will mob AI be making a come back? It gave life and personality to the creatures. Maybe make the following goats stop following after so long? Mobs need more diversity
19) I want this question asked for sure! Will we get some sort of menu that allows us to equip the gear we want displayed on our character along with a 2nd equipment menu that we use to equip gear with the stats we want? I think LOTR has this.
20) Will Leaping Lizzy, or even the model for lizards from XI make a return? They were so cool
21) IF we do get a 2nd equipment menu for just looks, could we get new styles of equipment that can be used just for looks? No stats
Question from friend:
How exactly is the world changing going to fit into the lore? Dalamud crushing everything?
Will players be able to change their nations allegiance, even once?

Any gear system adjustments? With all the materia and specific gear attributes that have been added to the game, is all of the old equipment out of place and will it be revamped? A big part of the "journey" of leveling up is benchmarks that have to do with gear/equipment that is standard and can be bought for cheap vs. exceptional gear that is a time investment and a badge of honor which lasts for many levels.
Example: Melees in the dunes all wore scale mail or the mnk/sam/nin armor i cant think up. It common enough to the point where you pretty much knew where someone was headed. This added to the identity of certain areas. But when you saw someone with o.kote and leaping boots in quifum you knew they (most likely) a more experienced player. This added depth to player-to-player encounters sometimes allowing them to share funny stories with strangers about how they attained them. And made you subconsciously reflect on the lore of the world further engrossing you in the game.
My point is the gear in FFXIV has no emotional attachment at this point. Due to the facts that we there arnt any experiences/trials to go through(dreadful leveling locations) in different tiers of equipment, and the majority of the equipment is lackluster and easy to obtain(small pop zones with 5 min respawn timers on NMs).
I am saying this with the exception of the job gear, so don't be hating.

Its a complex one though... because things like leveling speed, possibly reworking stats and even a possible cap raise all greatly affect it...
It's worthy of having it's own thread... I am very interested in what Yoshi has planned for stats and gear....
Its almost hard to even phrase it right...
I guess the question amounts to
"Will you be reworking how stats work for 2.0?"
"Will you be reworking gear stats?
"Will more emphasis be placed on the gear you're wearing?"
I'm sure there will be gear that will be quite memorable in the future, when we are high enough level to actually have decent gear. Think back to FFXI and try to name some memorable pieces of gear that were under level 50. I guess the JSE's from the aqueducts but those are from an expansion and we don't have an expansion for FFXIV yet.Any gear system adjustments? Yea I got into a ramble sorry. I guess the question boils down to "are we keeping all the gear in the game we have now? or is it ALL getting redone?" I just didn't feel like that did it justice.
