Hmm.. it’s giving me Genshin Impact vibes minus the access to a personal house. In that game, we could place buildings, gardens, landmass (random rocks, cliffs,etc) along with having our characters stand around commenting along with animals we could place that roam a bit. It has its only lovely nuances (like how much is allowed to be placed based on loading ability) but it’s kind of in. I could look forward to this version of it

Once it's in game and we can see it I'm probably gonna look at it and go, "huh... it's got gathering, and here is where minions roam. All these things we were told to expect are literally right here." But until then I'm having a surprisingly hard time trying to piece this content together from what they've told us.

Well, the housing concept is absolutely staggering in size. There's so many ways to furnish your own space I think a person could sink hundreds of hours into it.

I'd like to try it out one day when housing becomes available to players.
Hopefully that's what this island sanctuary is... cuz I think housing has been in development since before ARR and they haven't launched it yet.

Have you played Asassins Creed 3, the native american one? Dark Cloud (ps2 era), Animal Crossing (of course, they reference this themselves), Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley?

FF7 when you get to chocobo ranch? WoW Garrisons (there were a number of quite cool things they did with that system, but they also had a number of quite not so cool things also mixed in with abandonment which is really unfortunate).

I know I just listed quite the variety lol. .. But I think it's going to have relationships, if not just distant ones, to systems like those above (how I'm imagining it, in a spider web of ideas like those above).

You're going to get this island, like which FFXI had called mog islands, there will be I assume some spaces unlocked already, which includes a place to start gathering / farming, through progression likely a lot through the island itself but maybe outside too, you expand your island's capabilities (I imagine, not exactly confirmed). So you might have a bare-ish, island that has some places of interest cluttered that you have to clear out, clearing them out gains you access to them, you can start placing minions down to give it a living vibe of your own choosing, placing buildings like a windmill or a barn (for raising animals).

I don't like this example because it makes it sound 'cheap', when I think and really hope it does well and people love it, but you might imagine some concepts may line up to those farm mobile games lol.

This is at least what the beginning of what I'm imagining. Especially since I have had wanted a content like this for a while, so if feedback was involved in this thing then things like Dark Cloud, islands, personal space, etc were all frequent desires.

Yoshida himself said that some on the team are fans of the Animal Crossing / Stardew like games (I think it was the latter, but recently he said Animal Crossing so I'm going to combine them for my brain lol). It wouldn't be reasonable to expect a complete game to be within a complete game, so it wont be that deep (most likely), but potentially if it is received well and the dev team liked making it we could certainly wish it a long future .

Honestly from the interview I think that Yoshida asked people in a really clear way for them to tamper their expectations regarding this content. And I feel like a lot of people are taking things out context and saying stuff such as "it will be animal crossing!! it will have personal housing!" when there is almost nothing indicating any of this. The description of the content was incredibly vague.

Personally I'm avoiding thinking about this particular thing and creating theories around it. Endwalker has a lot of things on it's plate - a delayed ultimate, the end of the arc, a new race, two new jobs, etc, etc, if anything I'm afraid of hyping it and getting a ishgardian restoration-esque thing. I will save my feedback/wishies foir when we actually have a clear vision of what it is.

I'm still getting WoW Garrison vibes from this. Instead of a walled fortress, you get an island. You'll be able to select the buildings you place. You'll have a place to grow things. You'll have minions running around.

What it won't have, unlike Garrisons, is player power progression attached and that's a good thing. No one will feel forced into participating if the content doesn't appeal to them.

If you are referring to me then I feel you may have skim read me, because I literally say what Yoshida said. Which is he himself says animal crossing but /that/ it isn't going to be that crazy because that is beyond expectations.

Not many else referenced that game so I felt it was me, yet I was the one also saying Yoshida technically didn't say it will have furniture moving in the interview people referenced. Managing expectations. So I really feel taken out of context and only skim read upon.
