i have just recently gotten into this game, and i've managed to get some of my friends into it too. We would very much like to Establish a Free company, but we are unable to do so due to us being on the same Data-Center, but on different Servers (i'm on odin and my friends are on Zodiark, Phoenix and lich). we had to make our characters on different servers, because the others were congested at the time.

I'm not going to ask for any divine intervention as help, but i simply wanted to ask if there has been any infomration or talk about Updates to the Free-Company feature in the game?
Will we at any point get the ability to create cross-server FCs or would we each have to pay for the Home-World transfers in order to do so?

I wish we could make a free company that can invite from all worlds, but at the moment what you can do is make a cross-world linkshell.

I don't believe cross world FC's will ever be a thing. The game does have cross world linkshells though that could make it easier to at least communicate in game. However in terms of making an FC you will all most likely need to choose which world you all want to be on then the ones not there already either pay for a world transfer or if they aren't that far into the game content wise just make a new character on that world.

I would have a hard time seeing that as being a thing as it effectively opens the field to botting and RMT accounts to all worlds in a data center.

I mean I could be wrong, but the restrictions usually exist to try and cut down on things like that. having an open multi world FC would allow bypassing of pretty much every restriction they have in place

Outside of the shared chest I'm struggling to think what limitations exist that aren't better handled by the bot nets' own command and control channels. Even the chest is of dubious benefit. If you can automate deposits you certainly can automate direct trades or mail. Far more likely for those transactions to be laundered through the marketboard.

There's always a chance that SE can figure out how to change whatever programming ties FCs to a specific world to open them to cross world players but it won't be happening in the near future.

At this point, you're going to be better off either paying to transfer to the same home world, or creating new characters on that home world if you're not too invested in your current characters yet.

None of the EU worlds have been designated as Congested in recent months. What was stopping you or your friends was the temporary character creation lock that SE updates every 10 minutes based on current log in traffic. Waiting a half hour or so will frequently have a temporarily locked world open back up to character creation/transfers, especially during off peak hours.

I don't think data centre wide FC will be a thing, they make no mention of it. You are better either making new chars on same server when you can or pay for server transfer sadly.

There has been no talk of cross server FCs. If they ever did they'd have to contend with duplicate named ones and I don't see them bothering with all that mess when inter-server communications are possible.

I'm going to go in with everyone saying save up for those server transfers if you want to be in an actual FC, otherwise you will be waiting for far too long and possibly for something that will never happen.
