Housing is completely broken...

So I have read many threads already preaching this but I'm going to say it again in the hopes that we get someone to listen....

I spent 23hrs 21mins trying to get 1 small plot... now given that it went on for that much time a ungodly amount of people were given time to show up... there must have been at least 40 there the whole time with me... This is ridiculous wasting that much time just to not get it then the heard moves to the next one...

Now to the second plot... I was the first one there and spent about a hour alone still to wait for more people to show up and sure enough now we are at 5 people 6 hours into this one with no end in sight.... this random timer needs to end much sooner or make more wards to allow people to buy one or even make it a bidding thing like the real world... I get it'll go to the richest person but if their willing to pay 30mil for a 3mil spot who cares... I mean you practically do this already with large lots that are 50mil.... so the whole well the poor people wont be able to afford it doesn't apply... Go play the game and farm gil. Fix housing please.... its just not right for people to waste 2 days of play time for it... and im sure people have spent more time than that trying to get one...

They are aware of it and will someday, somehow fix it! People have been thinking about it for literal years at this point, and SE prolly knows about all the suggestions. We'll see what they'll come up with by 6.1!

No need to put yourself through this. An Apt. isn't the worst thing, for a while, and certainly better than camping a sign for days, yes?

If housing is a really important part of the game as promised, there are lots of others out there. I'd suggest playing another until it is fixed to your liking. If I couldn't have a part of the game as advertised, I'd be gone.

Bots, RMT/house seller experts and rich narcissists would enjoy your bidding system as some of them own not multiple houses but sometimes whole wards.

The easiest solution would be like ESO : add instanced housing and call it a day.
More people would then be interested in housing furnitures and the ones available on the cashshop.

Bots are already used as i see them daily farming crap.... so thats already in the game

RMT/House sellers are already a issue once again... the house selling is combated with the current way but there is zero reason it needs to last more that 8 hours at most...

And Rich narcissists are already in the game as there's a 50mil large lot so..... yea

Instanced housing sucks because it doesn't get seen by others so there would be no reason to buy decorations as your the only one to see them...

Not true. Instanced housing gets seen all the time in the other games that use it. Players generally can teleport directly to their friends' housing, and there are ways to "advertise" housing and search for housing open to guests. I used to spend hours in RIFT not only working on my own housing Dimensions (I had 11 active Dimensions across my 5 characters) but touring the Dimensions that other players had listed and I was frequently running into other players looking around at the same time I was. I know of players who have had similar experiences with the housing in ESO and in Wildstar (before it was shut down).

In the meantime, ward housing here rarely gets seen by other players unless someone goes out of their way to advertise in shout chat or on Discords despite it not being instanced. I spent several months in the yard of my house grinding out crafting achievements this expansion. How often did I see random players wandering through the ward or stopping by to check out my house? Three times and two of those times they ran away when they found me in my yard.

Instanced housing would be far better for the game. Everyone who wanted a house plot could get one, and other players would be able to freely visit as long as guest access was enabled.

Why not just let us build airships for our squadrons that's functionally a mobile house with most of the housing functionality on it?

Instanced housing would be fine for many, as SE seems to have a hard time to add multiple wards and people still visit apartments despite not being out in the open. I’d rather have that than wait 10 years for them to add enough wards (which won’t be enough as players bypass the 1 personal House & Appartment + 1 FC house rule and SE is fine with it, which doesn’t help the supply core issue).

As for RMT/gil house sellers and rich mafia-like players, have you just paid attention to who owns the houses ? On multiple servers you have players with shell FCs using multiple characters to own half a ward and in some cases the whole ward, like all the plots. I’m not talking about just a Large house here.

So again, your bidding solution would just make it easier for both types as money and the amount of character they can have at their disposal is not a barrier. You’d be outbid everytime and back to square one.

The bidding solution has already been proposed and players talked about its flaws. It’s not a solid solution.

To sum it up they have 2 solutions :

• You wait 10 more years until they add enough wards which should be at least equal the numbers of players on a server. But they’ll need to review their own house ownership rules that have been bypassed and pissed on by many. Making the supply even more shorter than it should be.
  
  
• they upgrade the servers, which they’ll be doing soon, and add instanced housing with a similar visit system than appartments (so you can still show off if that’s what matters to you). Instead of being empty and still loaded on the server, they’ll be loaded only when someone actually gets inside.

For players maybe but there's no gameplay merit to it cept maaaaybe gardening. Then again, go check out housing wards, most people don't even use that

Plenty of people that use housing as a one and done deal, that's why the housing xones seem so empty. Well, it is why they are so empty.

Housing will lose plenty of value the moment everything's gonna be instanced. Which would be a shame imho. And frankly, to a noob like me it also sounds more complicated than more server/housing zones.

But as they stated multiple times, it's not that easy.

They'll add new realm with EW probably, that's your chance to get a house :3

If you're on a full server already, wait for ishgard and then go checking out the old zones!

It's not impossible to get a house currently, and you also don't need to camp a plot 24/7 which plenty of people seem to see as the only way of getting one.

Get an Apt. If all you want is housing! Get a house if you wanna actively partake in a neighbourhood! That's atleast how I see it and I seem to be a tiny minority

ANYWAY, we need more servers for housing. Yoshi, it's time.
