Elemental - Microstutter, Lag & Lockup

    Hi,

I play on Elemental/Tonberry as a main. I've started to note in peak (7.30pm to around 11pm GMT+10) that I suffer from connection issues, ranging from microstutter or lockup to the 90001 error (only once).

This occurs in overworld (residential districts) and in instanced content (both times it was in E12S)

I have Fiber into my house, with my PC connected to the router via Ethernet.

I've run tracert & WinMTR, discovering no packet loss anywhere between myself and the Elemental datacentre.

Is this just a server load issue?

The disconnect happened once but the lag was consistent
Power cycled all hardware, spoke with ISP and troubleshooted.

    Greetings fellow Eorzean!

Based on the information provided, the issue appears to be intermittent. Most of the time, this tends to be an issue with the connection itself in some way. I advise the following:

    1) If you are using a wireless connection, try a wired one.

    2) If you are using a wired connection, try using a different ethernet cable.

    3) If you are using a separate modem and router, try connecting to the router directly to see if this may have any affect.

    4) Go into the router's settings and adjust them as needed. Make sure to use proper port fortwarding to open the following port numbers:

    ▼TCP
    54992~54994
    55006~55007
    55021~55040

    5) If the issue is how the connection is routed via your ISP to our servers or possibly an issue with the connection itself wired in your house, please contact your ISP for further assistance.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
