Atm unsynced makes it pretty easy to do that type of stuff if you can't find a party but after they changed that getting that stuff done when Endwalker is out is gonna be so much harder.
It was just a suggestion for lore background, not a requirement. There are plenty of playthroughs posted on YouTube with the quest dialog in addition to the cutscenes so players can watch those if they don't want to do the raid fights.

But definitely Coils and Alexander Normal are easy enough to do unsynced with a small group of players that aren't experienced raiders. Omega Normal raids would be more challenging for those who don't normally raid but can still be done unsynced.

It IS big! Like you got at, that's both a blessing and a curse. I returned a month or so ago after being gone since the end of 5.0 and had quite a bit to catch up on; not simply the MSQ. So much so, that once I got my main DoW, DoH, and DoL to 90 and finished the MSQ, I wasn't quite sure where to go from there. There's simply so much to do that one can get analysis paralysis pretty easily. I've decided to just chill, do whatever I feel like doing at the time, and stock up on crafting materials like crystals and manuals. I normally avoid raiding like the plague, but decided to see if I could get through Alexander this weekend and actually enjoyed it. Once I get that done I may actually look into Omega and Eden...but maybe not. It doesn't really matter as long as I'm having fun.

All this to say, enjoy doing what you want to do at any given moment. If you're having some FOMO, which is understandable, prioritize the MSQ and getting a single DoW/DoM to 80. Depending on how you play, you might have enough time. If you don't, at least you'll be closer to EW content and may be able to get there after the First Two Week Rush is over. I totally get wanting to be there for the opening of an expansion, but I'll tell you, after experiencing it many times over multiple games, I've realized it isn't worth it in the long run. Quest givers are hard to target, quest mobs get blown away before you can get to them, and all that jazz. Personally, I'm going to sit back, relax, and gather/craft for the first week to let the initial wave dissipate into the world.

Do the content you want to do, play the game the way you want to play, if you want to do a hard push to be ready for EW, you can probably do it. If that's not what you want to do, then don't. It'll be there when you're ready.

I was away for the most part during a fair amount of Shadowbringers due to wanting to play other games when they came out. Mostly just logged in daily to set retainers out on ventures and post stuff on the market board which also kept my house active. I pretty much cleared or finished those titles and came back a month or so ago and just have 5 or 6 of the ex trials left (I actually forgot about the ones in Stormblood that were added on updates. I'd farmed the first 2 on launch quite a bit before getting annoyed at lack of mount drops), the final bits of Bozja, and the last chapter of eden left I think content wise. I also have 2 combat jobs not at lvl cap yet.

I have a lot of Stormblood unlockables like Omega undone and have hardly begun Shadowbringers MSQ. Plus I skipped a lot of Realm Reborn stuff as well.

Anyone else know this feeling? It'll probably be months before I do Endwalker. I guess I can still swap to Viera.
it is always easy to catch up for the previous expansion stuffs. SE makes them easier to do with nerfs and echo.

I'm not ready for Endwalker either! I still have so many classes I need to level to 80, still have enough time to maybe squeeze in one more relic weapon; maybe the DNC weapon since I like it (the NIN one kind of looks dumb, I got it anyways since it's technically my main class atm). Then I got to gear up some of my alt classes with augmented gear. I want to take a shot at PoTD to get "The Necromancer" title, as well as the mount from there, want to introduce a few more friends to the game, already got one trying it out through the free trial. And I still have mounts to farm and beast tribe reputation to grind!

...Eh, I can always come back to it later though, especially since I'll be hyper focused on EW and doing MSQ when it drops and since I pre-ordered it, I'm gonna have to put aside some time for it in between all my college stuff. After I finish the MSQ for it, I can always go back and do all the side stuff I want to do.

So much to do, so little time. MSQ is the only thing checked off on my to-do list. But the good thing is, if it's a race against time to get stuff done, then the time won't drag by so much until Endwalker.

Nothing to do but wait for early access - Time feels like it moves at the speed of a sloth.

Too many things to do before early access - Time feels like it moves at the speed of light.

id like to suggest not rush, or feel bad for not having done everything in this game, ready for endwalker, cause this game have so many things to complete... what is to be truly "ready" in this game??
play the game at your own pace, you will be in endwalker soon or later, and there always be new players starting game from 0 everyday, and will be comparing their progress with yours too. And wen you reach endgame, and notice that what endgame have its not enough for you, a new player will come to you and say: "oh no, I'm so late for X expansion, I'm not in endgame..." just tell them the fun of this game its not exclusively in endgame, its about they journey! Have fun!

nobody is late for anything, its just your shiny moment is different from others.
