
In NZ they tend to connect you to a city close by, NZ is really really small so you'll always get crazy speeds locally. It's the pacific line that messes us up down here.Speedtest is only one aspect. You need to check packetloss and routing as well.
Working with your ISP or doing traceroutes to the server is an important troubleshooting step.

As someone who works for an ISP, there is a LOT that can go wrong between you and your game and it's very commonly not the client or customers fault or available for them to troubleshoot.
For example, I get well over 500mbps right now on it, but outside of NZ it drops a lot.
