So while looking for some available housing in Ul'dah I noticed several homes in one ward all owned by Moon, isn't there something we could do to stop these people with multiple accounts owning different homes as it takes houses away from other players.

Not much since they don't really break any rules.

Is there something you can do? No. And anything you tried to do would probly be harassment as defined by the ToS. Not worth risking your account over. Move on. Get an apartment for now, and keep looking for a house. More will become available via reclamation over time, and the devs are working to add more new wards of them to the servers.

I'm not sure what to make of Yoshi-P and his team's handling of the housing system in FFXIV.

On the one hand, it seems to say housing for all and that it is a social place... LOL... It's often nothing more than a ghost town.

And on the other hand, the players who complain that there is not enough housing for everyone.

They seem to let it go and even excuse certain behaviour which consists in buying all the houses of an entire instance, for Rp or community reasons, or whatever...

All I can think of is that it helps SE to keep a certain number of subscribers at least every 45 days max.

There was no particular announcement on the management of housing concerns, there will be new zones with Endwalker, but everything will be sold within 15 minutes. And this by people who may have prepared a lot of FC to buy a lot of FC's house.

I mean just in ward 12 they own 13 of the housing there, it's insane and takes homes away from other players, I know there'll be more homes in Endwalker and am looking forward to the lottery system as I might actually get a damn place but its still crazy just how many places they own and SE can't (or won't) do anything about it x.x

What's SE supposed to do? Remove their claim on the houses? Ban them?

Who says you're not next if they do that?

More supply is the only actual solution. Atleast in my head! I doubt the lottery system is gonna change much either.

wouldn't say ban em' but it seems like its multiple accounts to get past the 'one house per account' they don't need 13 houses, this wouldn't be a problem if they did instanced housing (think Runescape / SWTOR for something like that) instead of wards

They need to fix it so only one alt/main character can be leader of a FC. The intent was one personal and one FC per server. The one private has been enabled but the problem is FC's purchases are broken and they're done nothing to fix it.

that article is almost 5 years old and not really relevant in 2021.

When that couple bought the houses no one bought house on Mateus. They were up for sale for months on end.
