    Scion and NPC jobs?

I haven't played long enough, nor seen enough of other classes, to know what jobs the various members of the Scions, or even the various other faction leader or main characters hold. I especially can't figure out Alphinaud,

As usual, pointers to sites, or just a simple list would be great. Thanks.

The scions all have custom jobs that do not relate to an actual playable job. With some exceptions as you go through the story. Alphinaud for example has his custom class (the same he starts with) to current storyline.

It also needs to be mentioned that the Archons first appeared in 1.0 and had classes that were unique to them, but appear to have been things SE had been mostly just experimenting with (Thancred being a BRD long before the Job was actually added, but using throwing knives for instance), which explains why in ARR they've had things changed with them, starting with their outfits (ShB also had to change their Jobs so as to have at least one of each role for the purposes of the Trust system introduced in that expansion). But either way, this is the class history for most of the Scions, including the Archons and some who are not Archons but assist the organisation (also there are some minor spoilers here so I've spoilered out the revelant parts):

Thancred: originally 'Bard' in 1.0, but the BRD Job wasn't actually in the game at that point so mechanically he was basically a Gladiator with elements of how Rogue was made rather than how BRD became, and he retained this skillset into ARR. In ShB he became Gunbreaker in the Trust system (and thus the only tank Trust)

Urianger: originally in 1.0 he was Arcanist, but the original concept that was never added for players using a mechanical staff and acted more like a healer. ARR modified him to more like how ACN was released as, summoning Carbuncles, and thus wielded a grimoire. In ShB he became an Astrologian.

Y'shtola: originally a Conjurer in 1.0, but had access to spells and abilities a regular CNJ has never used. In ShB she became the unique Job for Trusts Sorceress, which has the Black Mage Job symbol but uses unique Ronkan magic spells from the First. (This is also why incidentally in Dissidia NT she can switch skill sets between CNJ and THM).

Yda/Lyse: originally Pugilist in 1.0, but she could draw on special healing abilities as well that were never available to player PGLs.
After her unmasking as her sister Lyse at the end of HW
, she became more Monk than PGL, but it's unclear if she has a unique Job or not, as she's not yet part of the Trust system, although she does draw on some Rogue abilities too (using a knife for one).

Papalymo: Was a Thaumaturge in 1.0 into ARR exclusively, although once again it appears his version was unique compared to players, as he had access to spells players did not.

Alphinaud: wasn't in 1.0, but in ARR he started as an Arcanist, using various versions of Carbuncle including ones players had no access to. He remained ACN into ShB but as a Trust his version of ACN is shown as the unique Job Academician, a healer which uses the Scholar Job symbol but still uses Carbuncle instead of a fairy like a SCH does. The EW trailer shows that he will change class finally to the new Sage Job at some point.

Alisaie: again she was not in 1.0, and again like her brother she started ARR as Arcanist, but unlike him she switched to Red Mage at the end of HW and remains as one, even into ShB in the Trust system.

Minfilia: never had a class as far as could be seen, as she never participated in combat in either 1.0 or ARR as the Antecedant of the Path of the Twelve/Scions of the Seventh Dawn.
The 'Minfilia' seen in ShB is not actually her at all but a girl named Ryne
, who has the special unique Job Oracle of Light in the Trust system, which mechanically uses Rogue's class symbol (and she wields dual daggers like a ROG), but has access to unique abilities and spells.

Tataru: never had a class in 1.0 as she was just a receptionist there, but in ARR part of her story development was finding a path for herself and so she tried various Disciplines with varying degrees of success. She tried Arcanist due to her strength in mathmatics, but couldn't focus properly to keep her Carbuncle under control). She also tried Miner but found it too grueling, and finally settled on Weaver, making various new outfits for the other Archons and even the Warrior of Light.

Estinien: probably the only one that remained as the same Job throughout their entire appearence, Estinien is of course a Dragoon, and looks like he will retain that as a Trust in EW.

Not an error as such, but if someone "hasn't played enough" to recognise NPC jobs yet then they probably also haven't played enough to have certain details about certain characters casually dropped into a list like this. You've only hidden a fraction of the spoilers in that post.

You shouldn't be saying anything about Lyse or Ryne (by either of her names), or the First. Talking about Estinien's status in Endwalker implicitly spoils his fate in Dragonsong. Just talking about what some people are doing in Shadowbringers or Endwalker can be enough to infer who may or may not survive to that point in the story.

You go into so much detail with your answers – in other past conversations too – but sometimes it just isn't helpful to give that information to a new player even partially hidden in spoilers. It's better to tailor the detail in your answers to the progress of the person asking the question.
