Black screen after Ultimate Weapon cutscenes

I reached level 52...leveled up to 53 while in dungeon for The Ultimate Weapon lvl 50 quest. I never have any problems with cutscenes. Not even now. They seem to play flawlessly. IDK how many cutscenes you go through after completing dungeon for The Ultimate Weapon quest, but it flawlessly plays several all the way through a cut scene showing Ascions chanting to their god. After this cutscene is over, it fades screen to black like it normally does to exit cutscene or transition to next cutscene...but the screen remains faded and nothing progresses. I seem to have access to chat window during this time but nothing else works. Couldn't even shut the game down without using task manager. I have the starter pack with the Shadowbringers Collector's edition upgrade installed. Geoforce drivers up to date. No apparent problems with the cutscenes themself, just seems to freeze when this particular cutscene is over and progress to Heavensward stage of main quest line. I rebooted. I double checked that no other programs enabled on startup. I am at my wits end. Please help.

Were any changes or updates made to the PC? Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'
