Honestly, at this point even SCH's fae gauge in PvP is looking more interesting than their PvE counterpart.

I’m surprised people still complain about Fey Union this much. It’s one of my go-to options for stray mistakes and tank management alike. Embrace is equivalent to Regen, at no cost. It can be cancelled into any Fairy action and like /place helps fix the AI issues people have. Yes, it’s Rouse. It’s also one of the abilities that is going to reap the most benefit from half-AST casting as Dissolve Union won’t be a loss to use anymore, making it even better.
I’m not gonna pretend SCH doesn’t have pet action delay issues, they do. However, Fey Union’s one of the better aspects of SCH’s current kit in spite of that. Sometimes it feels like people here over estimate how good AST/WHM are compared to the tools SCH actually has. Tank Mastery and SE’s fight design is why it feels bad now. I remember running it and Rouse into the ground in Stormblood.

Fey Union's problem is how long it takes to charge up vs how mediocre it is potency wise vs how it conflicts (can't be used ) with other capstone abilities (Dissipation and Seraph).I’m surprised people still complain about Fey Union this much. When SE removed the quickened aetherflow trait they made it harder to fill up the job gauge. SCH already takes the longest in the game to fill their gauge as it is.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
I main SCH and honestly I don't really understand the point of the Fairy Gauge. It's a reward for optimal use of Aetherflow stacks, I assume. You get this ability that locks your fairy in place, has a limited range (meaning the tether will break if the tank moves too much, which makes it rather useless in anything that ins't a closed arena, and then can still break.) for a rather mild heal.Fey Union's problem is how long it takes to charge up vs how mediocre it is potency wise vs how it conflicts (can't be used ) with other capstone abilities (Dissipation and Seraph).

You get more healing for using your AF stacks.
But it's so...inconsequential. I keep forgetting I have it, honestly. Maybe if the fairy glued itself to the target like some sort of upgraded Regen. It's one of those abilities that seem to always be at the mercy of the other player. If the tank moves away it breaks.
Same with Excogitation. If the tank is healed, its wasted. Another thing that works against itself.

I wonder: since they insist on making Eos and Selene be identical in their abilities, why did they not allow players to use (at least some of) the Fairy Gauge to have them out simultaneously for a period of time? Even if they only allowed for a mirrored Embrace from the other fairy, that would at least be something.

There is no "them", Eos and Selene are stances of a single entity: LilyI wonder: since they insist on making Eos and Selene be identical in their abilities, why did they not allow players to use (at least some of) the Fairy Gauge to have them out simultaneously for a period of time? Because they don't care. I will spout this as many times as it takes to sink in.I wonder: since they insist on making Eos and Selene be identical in their abilities, why did they not allow players to use (at least some of) the Fairy Gauge to have them out simultaneously for a period of time? They. Do. Not. Care.
