FFXIV in SEA

Sorry if I posted this on the wrong category, I checked the rules of other forum categories but none of them suits this kind of thread.

My friend once lived for some years in Japan where the game is available on Steam and bought it there,
he then went back to his home country in SEA where surprisingly, the Full Game is not available but the Free Trial is! Weird.

He currently also cannot buy the subscription and cannot post on the forum so I'm typing this on his behalf:

Please add the Full Game on SEA (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, etc.) Steam Store, because we don't see any reasonable reason why would the Free Trial is available but not the Full Game.
Doesn't need any new server, just make it available to be purchased here through Steam Store.

We also believe that by making FFXIV available on SEA Steam Store (and maybe even better, with a localized price) would also attract more players from this region which will be beneficial for the game's profit.
Especially considering there is an upcoming OCE server which literally is very close to SEA, it would be strange not having the Full Game to be available for purchase here.

I'm sure you could use a VPN and change your location to Japan (or any region you want), then purchase and subscribe to the game. I doubt you'd even need to keep the VPN on to play, since you can select any data center you want with any regional version, which means you could probably get away with a free/trial VPN or, at most, have to pay for a single month or some extra data, which should be less than US$5.

The only stumbling block would be account creation, if your friend doesn't already have one from when they lived in Japan. Account creation's gonna need a real address and postal code, which you could make up (I do this all the time for foreign TV streaming), but it seriously restricts any future customer service you might need.

I played the free trial on steam and i had to create a whole new account to play the non-steam version because i couldn't get the steam full version. fortunately, the free trial was only up to level 20 back then.

That's one way but he doesn't want to risk his Steam account getting banned, especially since he's going to need to do it multiple times every time he wants to buy subs and expansion.

Hi, I'm the friend he was talking about.

Found a way to at least get sub using Crysta through Prepaid card (much more expensive and not easy at all by the way).
And still I can't buy the Expansion because it's still locked behind an inexplicable Region Lock.

Until this day, the Full Game is still not available in my country's Steam Store, or even in SEA (except SG) but the Free Trial still is.

Reiterating what my friend said, having the Free Trial available but not the Full Game is something that makes no sense.
Also, since the OCE server which is very close to my country is coming soon already, making the Full Game available here starting now before EW releases would be a much more better idea so people can pre order EW sooner.

I see some people thought we were talking about making a new SEA Server but that is really not what we are trying to say.

We only ask for FFXIV, its Full Game to be available here in SEA Steam Store just like the Free Trial (and with a localized price if possible).
I have a lot of friends ready to throw money into this game just to get discouraged because they have to go through hoops just to register an account and purchase the game.

Or a slightly worse option, let us buy the expansion using Crysta.
Sure, I still have to buy it at a higher price because of currency but her, at least I can buy it.

Or maybe just let me move from Steam to Non-Steam?

There are a lot of things can be done but I still think just making the Full Game available on our Steam Store just like how the Free Trial is will be the best option.
