    Multi-size apartment request megathread

    Hello all,

I've seen a number of people, myself included, express a desire for the ability to purchase apartments with the same, or similar, floor plans to existing houses. With the understanding that single threads with many responses and likes are the ones most likely to be pushed up the chain, I thought I'd start one for the community to glom onto.

This isn't meant to be a replacement for the large feature request thread, so please use that for your general feature requests. This is strictly a thread for the community to advocate for personal apartments of multiple sizes and/or multiple spaces.

    My requests/desires:

    1. Studio apartments as they are now, for the same price as currently listed.

    2. 2-storey with the same floor plan and price as Small houses.

    3. 3-storey with the same size, layout, and price as Medium houses.

    4. Single floor apartments with one and two private rooms (1/2 bedroom apts) the same way they do FC rooms for twice or three times the cost of the current studios, as appropriate for the additional spaces.

    Let's keep the ball rolling!

I'd actually make box sized apartments a given or paid for with Grand Company seals to start.

    1. Upon reaching Lieutenant rank and level 50, it's 25k seals to purchase a housing voucher, which can be redeemed at any of the three major starting city-states (Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, or Ul'dah) for a box sized apartment.
    2. Upgrades to the size (small, medium, large) cost 3 million, 20 million, 50 million respectively. (If you move from one size to the next rather than jump ahead, the price you paid for the smaller size is deducted from the price of the larger size. Example: If you buy the 3 million small and then upgrade to medium, the cost to change to a medium is 17 million.)
    3. Moving to another location to other major city-states is 5 million (and the area you want to move to must be unlocked by your character): Ishgard, Kugane, Crystarium.
    4. Moving to specialty locations (Think Sea of Clouds, or Azim Steppes, or The Tempest) costs anywhere from 10 to 50 million depending on the area.
    5. Want more furniture slots? That'll be paid in gil. Every 50 slots is 10 million gil. (Probably need a cap on this somewhere.)
    6. Want access to gardening? 500k gil to open a garden plot, 1 million to unlock a 2nd and 2 million to open a third, with a cap of 3 plots. (SE can sell items in the cash shop to temporarily or even permanently tend to the garden for you? Probably a good option for people who'll be offline for a bit.)
    7. Want to change the interior (minus walls, flooring and lamp)? You can pay gil for an array of options, buy special ones from the cash shop or use ones you get from questing, achievements, pvp, etc.

Just... so many things housing can do if we weren't limited by the neighborhoods.

Edit: I even thought of a bunch of interiors they could implement.

Base Interior: The aesthetic of the dwelling as seen without decoration. (Not the walls, floor or lamp. The interior appearance of the room/windows/door.) No need for it to be small/medium/large either. One size fits all.
Basic Interiors: Gridanian, Lominsan, Ul'dan. (Purchaseable from a vendor or is your starting interior on purchasing from any of the major city-states with your voucher.)
    Purchaseable/Craftable: Ishgardian, Hingan, Crystarium.
Craftable: Cathedral, Eulmoran, Treehouse, Yurt, Log Cabin.
FC Projects: All the houses you can make now for neighborhood houses, but it's just the interiors for instanced housing.
Submersibles/Airship missions: Golden Palace, Ship Cabin, Sky Pirate lodgings, Submarine Interior.
Deep Dungeon: Palace of the Dead Interior, Heaven on High interior.
Cash Shop Premium Interiors: Allagan, Amaurot. (You know they'd make eleventy billion on selling Amaurot interiors.)

It's just frustrating how much fun this would be if they'd just quit insisting on neighborhood style housing.

I'd rather have full instanced, free form housing so players would also have the ability to use outdoor furnishings as they like in addition to indoor furnishings.

But lacking that, adding in options to have apartment layouts that match current house interiors (with the door flipped to the windowless back wall) would be a reasonable solution. YoshiP did say that upgrading an apartment wouldn't work with the apartment system but that shouldn't prevent a player from relinquishing their current apartment then buying one of a different size.

Also, rather than have an apartment with adjoined rooms FC private chamber style, perhaps SE could create an apartment the size of a medium house floor without the stairs. A single floor room with 2-3 times the "square footage" would be great.

    I'd defenitly support this.

i'd probably been fine back before I got my current medium Plot with an appartment of equal size. (Granted by now I'd miss the outdoor furnishings I bought since then, which does raise the question how much I'd have felt like 'missing out with a big appartment)

500K 5millions and 50millions would seem reasonable in my eyes, and include need to visit at least once per 45 days if more than 1 room apartment.

Out of curiosity, why do you think this? Is it out of concern that all servers might experience what Balmung's going through these days? Is there a different reason?
