Black Listing A Lot Lately...

Lately, it seems like I find myself having to black list more and more recently than I have done in my years of playing... Of course I am not black listing players willy-nilly, I am talking about the huge number of bots and veteran players being unreasonably rude to newer players (like, please don't do mentor roulette if you don't want to deal with synced content with sprouts).
Anyone else facing similar dilemma of nearly maxing out your black-list or already maxed out?

Right, but there's not a sudden surge of them taking place. They've always been around, but they've always been a minority of the game's population. That hasn't changed.

I haven't run into one player I have had to blacklist in 3 months I am just not seeing the rude player influx

Yea I really wonder about some of those who say there has been a noticeable jump in toxicity in the game recently. Where is it? I have not seen it at all. Pretty often I see people say "it's them WoW players ruining the game!" and after months of reading comments relating to this I have yet to see a noticeable negative change in player interactions in the game. The only noticeable changes I have seen is the amount of players hanging out in cities and login queues.

Sure sometimes people can be unlucky and can end up just meeting a lot of meanspirited people due to no fault of their own. But some others who I met in the past who had similar complaints turned out to be the problem themselves. I'm not putting OP in either basket because I frankly do not know them. Though after having a quick glance through their post history I am inclined to think they're just having a patch of bad luck.

my guess is that it's a mix of two or even more separate things;

people are more brazen with their toxicity because they've been getting away with it for a while or even years and have never gotten a warning or a suspension for it (or maybe they did but didn't care and just made a new account)
in addition to that, people projecting their own various feelings, failings and whatnot on a designated target and blaming them for it, usually accompanied by using some made up or blown out of proportion issue to deem said player as problematic and proceeding to witch hunt them, sometimes even with a community's backing or even a group effort (as seen in various RP related crystal drama google docs where this very same thing happens over and over and over again, shame they break the rules if someone would post them and that others have been deleted and/or hidden since they're an interesting read imo)

and on the other hand, people who think every oh so minor 'transgression' they experienced is the result of pure personal hatred by the supposed perpetrator, every word a personal attack even if it was, say, a compliment because they're so insanely paranoid that everyone's out to get them
hell, this kind of person can even be part of the same group if they decide to 'defend themselves' by attacking - or aiming a/their community and friends at the 'bad person' that probably doesn't even know why it's happening

not that I'm saying that the OP or the other thread creators are the latter and that it's way more likely the former, but with the content lull, the pandemic lockdowns still existing in various countries and states and the effects those have on even a healthy person's psyche, it's no surprise to me that 'it's getting worse' this year

There's been a minor increase, but nothing crazy. I see it in the Novice Network usually; Xenophobic mentors butting heads with WoW refugees mostly. There's also been a massive increase in people tackling synced EX's in DF, which the OP cites specifically, and that has also made a lot of mentors salty.

I could fill a black list multiple times on just bots in a single day. Its not wort blacklisting them. As for players, it takes a lot for me to blacklist any given player. I haven't in a long while. And i run mentor roulette a lot... So either you are black list happy or filling it with bots, from my experience anyways.

I long-since stopped trying to keep gil seller bots blacklisted, it's a losing battle. These days, my list is mostly made up of people that spam FC/ERP advertisements in /sh.
