    Packet loss and lag issues

    Hello!

    I recently switched to a new ISP on the 17th of August, and was able to use my new internet for everything except for Final Fantasy XIV. I've tried everything at this rate: contacted my ISP (they said there was no problem with my coverage area as I'm using a 4G mobile broadband - i live in a rural area with no fiber or ethernet, so suggesting to switch to ethernet is impossible at the moment), did port forwarding, even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I'm at my wits' end right now and unsure where to go from here. Both my antivirus software and Malwarebytes scans came out clean.

    There are 7 other threads on the front page as of this writing so it is not you. From what I've gathered it is the server and their instance servers having issues. I have tried VPN's as well, and have had no luck, but some people have.

    hello! Since yesterday i have bad lag spikes that eventually it ends with D/C

    What Platform? - Steam/Windows
    Error messages received: different d/c, lag spikes all the time
    Wired or WIFI connection? : wired
    Are there other programs being used when running FFXIV? : i turned off everything
    When disconnect occurs/How often?: every 5-10mins , getting worse with the spikes and d/c at the end
    Does this only happen to one character or all characters? - all
    All steps taken to resolve the issue: i tried vpn, tried to reinstall the adapter driver , update, rollback etc, reboot pc, router, ping my i-net connection, also i tried some "resolutions" from your previous posts

    Good morning fellow adventurers. Thank you all for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums,

    We apologize for the delay in our response, please try the following options:

    - The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:

    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, click “Advanced” and select ‘Accept’ under both First Party and Third Party Cookies.
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

    *Make sure your fire wall or antivirus program is not interfering with the game

    Lastly, check to see if the following port ranges are opened on your router. You can contact your ISP and request they open them for you:

    -Try disabling background applications and do a clean boot by opening the task manager and selecting the “Start up” tab. Disable everything and then restart the PC.
