    Unable to play whatsoever "lobby server encountered an error 5006"

    I am unable to play FFXIV at all whatsoever! As soon as I press start on the title screen, I always receive the following error message, "The lobby server encountered an error 5006" and then the game automatically exits.

    I am not even able to get to the character selection screen or anything. The error occurs as soon as I hit start on my PS4 controller


    I am using the PC version from Square Enix. Not running Steam version

    Does anybody know what the problem could be?

    Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Is the PC connected to WiFi or are using an Ethernet cable? Additionally what have you tried so far to alleviate the issue?
