The game has a lot of technical debt due to the accelerated relaunch of 2.0. They don't currently have the manpower to do a major rework while also releasing expansions and patches as normal. As it stands, they make updates behind the scenes where they can.
Generally speaking, based on the two replies received in the thread so far, it seems that the limiting nature of the FFXIV game as a system (from a coding perspective) is a major factor in why the game is unable to implement many of the suggestions. At least that is what I summarized from the two responses. Is there any plan for them to try and address that? is it even possible/feasible to address at this point?
Thank you for sharing your opinion.

You can mitigate that issue by setting your status to "busy", right? If I am in an instance I like the fact I cant be bothered by outside messages. Some people persist in messaging you even when you tell them you are in an instance , it can get distracting. And annoying.
Back in WOW it got EXTREMELY annoying when "that person" wont take no for an answer and keeps messaging you even when you tell them "I am busy"
So no.
Ah yes, I use that system as well. I was wondering if it was possible to add a search bar in the inventory window. I think the only reason I am suggesting this is because I was so use to having it as a QoL feature in other MMOs that I have played. Based on multiple responses here, it seems that when you get use to FFXIV, you don't feel like you need it (at least that's the vibe I'm getting). It's a two step process... /isearch let's you know you have the item somewhere in your inventory
you can then select the item in the chat log, access the submenu, then Search for Item
this will bring up a more detailed window that specifies which of your storages the item is in... and iirc, in the chat log it will specify which tab of that inventory as well.
For example... the window will show that your retainer has x amount of item, in the chat log it will say your retainer name plus the page/tab# of their inventory where the item is located.
Additionally, /isearch works with partial entries as well... so if you can't remember the exact spelling, but are positive you have something, you can troubleshoot by using less characters.
For example... Mythrite Ore, could /isearch "Mythrite Ore", /isearch myth, or /isearch ore to try and get the item listing in chat log to then use Search for Item on.
True, your opinion is consistent with the feedback from everyone else.
