If you liked that one many of the Normals (8-man casuals) also have interesting mechanics. mmmm... Kefka.
No one can force you to. Enjoy the game!
For the 8-mans they are mostly solo with mediocre lvl 80 gear. Sometimes you have to do it a second time to get hang of mechanics vs your cool downs. If you don't have anyone on just put up in PF, "first time unsynced would like to watch CS" Some level 80 will pop in and help you one at a time. Alexander and Bahuamut are no problem. Omega does need a couple I have done most with 3 level 80s. Again just PF if someone joins you, they know they can do it. Not sure about 24 mans though.
And enjoy most people helping with this stuff don't care. It is not like you are joining an elite savage progression group. If they make something mandatory they will nerf it so you don't have to worry that way either.

The problem ISN'T healers rotation is busted or boring...
1) make priva pf for alliance
2) bribe or blackmail 2 friends to join so you have 1 player in each alliance a/b/c
3) enter crystal tower unsyncd
4) ???
5) profit
Like many things in life: try it first.Thank you all for your replies. I really appreciate it. I realize that not everyone feels the same way about raiding and it helps to hear that these older content raids can be run at the lowest difficulty via duty finder. I have a mood disorder so sometimes I ruminate on things and end up turning molehills into mountains. I think I will check out the unlocking for some of these and see how it goes from there.
In the end this is just virtual world. You don't even 'die' in FF14...You just got K.O.'d.
Or you can just live a trader's live and be rich off marketboard![]()
Extreme is even more fun! They get rid of the railings, so you can sliiiiiiiiiide right into the water.
Normal raids, particularly Omega raids, are just trials with extra mechanics. Nothing to be afraid of and a lot of fun, imo
I'm with you, @Shironeko_Narunya. I just did the Crystal Tower series and died like 10 times because I had no idea what was going on the whole time. My screen looked like some crazy abstract painting, with people running everywhere like an agitated hornet's nest, and that was with effects set to "limited". I didn't have a clue where to go or what to do, so I just kept trying to keep moving out of anything on the floor and throwing out heals as I could. If I stood still anywhere more than 3 seconds I died. Several times I died when I didn't appear to be standing in anything.
I don't understand the people calling it "easy". I define "easy" as "nobody dies unless they stand in orange."
I was playing White Mage, and I had my FC guild leader co-healing with me in a group. She made it a priority to rez me all those times I died.
This is my second attempt to get into FFXIV, and as before, I loved it up until these required "raids". It's such a horrible experience for me I quit before. If I hadn't been with my FC leader being nice and rezz'ing me, I would have quit now.
I take some comfort in people saying there will be no more of this awfulness required to progress my story experience.
