I get that argument. I dont know what the statistics about maximizing every class in the game is. But with every expansion comes a new level cap.. new jobs to level, new content to go through.
I personally feel i cant catch up with the content and the classes i like to play anymore (since the amount of classes is growing and growing + the level cap) , because it feels to be "too much content". This can kill motivation and money, too. By the way.

I guess many players in FF14 dont quit, because there is "nothing to do". And secondly it doesnt stop the devs to develope complete new jobs for an expansion simultaneously, too.

It doesn’t serve the player well, as a player might level job X exclusively on dps, then be pressured to heal or tank which they have no experience and possibly interest in doing.
Seems to work for SCH / SMNs i guess. And being *slightly pushed into a role can also result in discovering an other job role / class for yourself (other than dps), too.

    Just saying.

First: They'd share the same weapon. Secondly: they wouldnt need to develope a whole new job. It would be more like the same base class / job with a refreshing new twist / spec.
