I dont know what the expansion holds for healers. As people have mentioned the tool tips are not known, and even when the media tour embargo lifts those tool tips are not finalized or official.

But i do wonder why no one has mentioned the stat squish that does have the (and note the upcoming keyword, it’ll be in quotation marks) “POTENTIAL” to shift the balance so healing may need to be more prominent.

Obviously we can’t know that for sure, and it does seem like a long shot, but hey. If there’s gonna be rampant speculation might as well do it right and make sure all the factors are included! See ya check on the thread in a few days :3
Oh pls that’s the same stuff that they told us before shadowbringer that the increase healing needed and we saw were that brought us. Like here some solo heal runs I did in some shadowbringer extreme primals https://www.fflogs.com/character/eu/...=-2&metric=hps . Like the healing requirement for 99% of the content we have is so minimal that calling it healer feels insulting.

CNJ is the baby healer. Leave WHM alone.

Here are things that I noticed that peak my interest:

WHM is seen with 2 stacks of Thin Air
    Displacement/Totem Healing
    Holy/Misery Upgrade/Additional Skill

AST has Lord and Lady of Crowns returning as their own ability
Lord causes the enemy to flinch, signifying that it is likely AoE Damage
Lady causes what appears to be a healing affect on the Reaper, signifying AoE Healing
Divination is no longer tied to Seals
Seals provide AST a self buff
Meteor Shower also appears to be a damaging ability

SCH is being given an in-combat party-wide movement increase
It's funny to meme about, but the actual potential of this skill is incredible
I agree that SCH drew the short straw on flashy abilities however.

SGE is able to heal their designated target by dealing damage.
This is something I'm probably the most excited about, since this could be a platform for experimenting with Healers dealing damage in order to heal. (unlikely)

The numerous requests and complaints about complexity for Healer damage rotations has clearly been answered with a firm "No" on several different occasions, most recently in the 9/17 Live Letter. There are plenty of other things to be excited about with regards to Healing and we still hardly know anything.
Ignoring my personal opinion on the AST seals buff, these changes mean nothing if they don't change encounter design at all.

And since they've said they're doubling down on the changes made in Shb, and very little Shb content seems to cater to veteran healers why should I be excited?

I'm tired of being told to wait for post-patches and expansions for fixes and increased healing requirements that are never coming. Healers are not fun in all forms of content like all jobs should be, they're replaced by tanks and dps due to low healing requirements and their dps kit is small for 0 reason, when in the past we had more options and handled things just fine. I refuse to play healer in roulette come DT. I refuse to heal EXs, I refuse to go into Savage, and I am boycotting Ultimate.

I’m willing to put in the work. But if the devs are torn between making the work simple by making healers spam broil vs managing some optimal dps rotation with ED bio+ shadow flare/X other skill or buff then that’s fine with me. I choose less work any day of the week.

As someone who enjoys the support part of healing most:

-I'm really excited to see Divine Benison getting stacks. I'm curious if there will be more individual buffs to give out, too? (I miss stoneskin, I liked that it was a buff I could give non-party members and I'd toss it on friends as a little memento that "Bee was here".)

-I'm very curious how the 1.5 GCD will feel.

-Healing Totem is very pretty/flashy, I can't wait to find out more about it.

-Getting a Holy upgrade will be a nice change after all the nerfs it went through!!

-I'm also wondering if the cool down on Presence of Mind was reduce.

Kinda feels like SE keeps chasing that low skill floor though. They designed Dancer to be the easiest Job possible, that anyone could pick it up and play. Then the Live Letter drops and they want to make it even simpler because apparently the easiest Job in FFXIV is too difficult. I think they're in a never ending battle there, because no matter how simple they make a Job, someone will come out and talk about how they struggle with it, and then SE will lower the skill floor yet again in the name of accessibility. What's the limit for SE, when does a Job become too simple? Likewise, what's the reward for playing your Job well, particularly Healers? A Healer at the top of their game minimizes healing to laughably low levels while spending the vast majority of their time spamming a single spell. Spamming Glare/Broil/Malefic 200 times isn't a reward, but that's kinda all Healers got right now unless you're in a truly atrocious run where everything is on fire.

It'd be fantastic to actually have an open conversation with the Job design team and the Raid design team to figure out what their goals are, but everything we get is drip fed through Yoshi-P in Live Letters. It's at the point where many people, particularly the Healers on this subforum, feel like they're being ignored by SE which is incredibly disappointing.

They got more of the same. Some got more of the same AND had variety removed.

If you think that's worth praising, you probably think Fire V and Blizzard V will be amazing additions to BLM. Woo.

Impressive. A thread as braindead as healer gameplay.

That 'hardcore' bit was particularly hilarious. If you find anything heal orientated taxing in this game at present, I'd laugh myself into the grave watching you attempt basic composition or music theory. The game needs to be drastically more difficult. Not so nauseating it rivals buttering toast for a challenge.

Nice attempt at bringing some positivity!
It is probably unlikely, but I personally hope that the new Holy/gravity/AoW will be useful on single target. (in the veins of good ol' Aero 3/Shadowflare).
Unfortunately they are probably just upgrades.
