It's definitely overpriced compared to other dolls of the same brand and scale, but I'm just pointing out the irony of people not batting an eye at stuff like a 40€ mount, a 60€ plush or a 85€ 15cm figure but a 900€ SD fullset BJD is crossing a line
A mount or plush or a figure dont appear in my nightmares. The 900 euro figure is something that belongs deeply locked away together with clowns, to be never seen again.
Alright, that's just you, doesn't make the outrage over the price any less funny coming from a certain crowd of people.

Not necessarily true. It really seems to depend a lot on the brand being licensed. The 2B Dolfie is the same price, and the Hatsune Miku doll is slightly cheaper but in the same ballpark. If you're looking at unlicensed original characters then, sure, you can get them for cheaper but for the actual licensed characters YShtola isn't notably more expensive.
Limited licensed character DD dolls usually go anywhere between 55k and 80k JPY, Y'shtola is still 10k JPY more expensive than 2B and almost twice as expensive as non-limsNot necessarily true. 10k JPY isn't really anything to scoff at

Just being handcrafted doesn't make it quality, though it's naturally going to drive up the price due to the human labor costs... excuse me they are NOT toys.. they are COLLECTABLES... that I can play with...
Though I gotta admit if I bought a $1000 doll I would probably never touch it beyond arranging it in a glass case. I've owned cheaper cars.
From what I've gleaned most of the price is from the handpainted/crafted factor along with her head being a unique sculpt, the popular license, and her outfit being very complex. Similar dolls on the site go for around the same.
True. But I think since her face is uniquely painted as well (basic makeup on dollheads isn't as complex) it's a factor at least. Probably the biggest factor is how different the doll is in many ways.
You'd probably have to talk to an actual collector of these things to get a real breakdown.... anyone?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
It is quality. While Y'shtola is overpriced the average pricetag for that type of doll is usually well earned. Hung up or not over it "not looking like Y'shtola" it seems very clear from the close ups that the facepaint is good and there's possibility that we're still missing details that don't show up in the pictures.

Why she look like the Leech Lady doll from Puppet Master?

Pediophobia. Yeah, it sounds bad, but that is the actual name of fear of dolls. :PI know Y'shtola is a beloved character. I know y'all love collaboration and branding. But seriously, if y'all can change the Sage icon because people have a holes phobia, you can stop bombarding every single person who logs in with this horrifyingly eerie uncanny valley doll face. There was an evolutionary reason that humanity has a deep seated fear of things that look mostly human but aren't imprinted into our genome. You're disconcerting more people than a hole phobia here. Make it go away.
