I find the characters in this game really ugly/weird

Honestly the only ugly race are Roes, and that for their whack body shape. Lalafells are a meme race so they exist outside the paradigm.

Anyone else feel this way? It's got that uncanny valley doll look. The newer races like Hrothgar and Viera are definitely better than the old but I still don't have a race I really like in this game.

Even in 1.0, while the models looked better, character creation was very limited (the same option 1, option 2, option 3 selection as currently instead of sliders) which I always found weird coming from a company with a reputation of putting graphics and aesthetics as top priority over everything else.

They're decent, a texture update would honestly fix a lot of problems. Moreso I'm always wondering if they have a randomizer choosing NPC appreances for side story characters when they have like blue hair with orange higlights and pink eyes with scars and weird makeup.

Personally, it took me a very long time to come to FF14, because I disliked the character creation that offers very limited appearance options compared to other games like Blade and Soul, Phantasy Star 2, so and so.

Still, once I get used to how the game looks, I find them not as bad as I used to think. Now I absolutely adore my little popoto girl.

Lalafells are pretty ugly tbh I wish they replaced it with loli'qotes like Khloe Aliapoh and T'kebbe Morh

Khloe is by far cuter then any Lala could ever be. So yes please, it would avoid players who just want to troll with Lalafels and entice people who want a "cute" race.

Had the most annoying encounter with Lalafels the other day. Three of them in the same trial kept making awful jokes and spamming the same emote non stop.. They couldnt even preform basic mechanics because they were to busy with not participating well in the trial. After two wipes I just left.
