ya i understand but no way i'm going to search for something that far back he could change his mind and what i say could be wrong for any new response. He change his mind a lot so i guess we have to wait and see if a dev would response to this.

Yeah, I've never heard anything like that either. Can we get a source confirming that Primal weapons will no longer be available?
WHAT!?!? Is this true???Originally Posted by Novie

I have never heard anything like that, and I like to think I keep up with all FFXIV news. Although I didn't come back until 1.21, so plenty of stuff I could have missed before then, I guess...
the only thing i remember was moogle would no longer be available and the other primal storyline would change to fit more of the current events of ffxiv. Not even sure if the moogle was really confirm or not but it something i remember reading we may have to keep this topic alive too the golden week is over to listen to a dev answer.

I remember them saying something about the current content and it's availability after 2.0, but I don't remember exactly what.... That's a tough one... I guess the best place to start would be the month or two after the 2.0 announcement. looking for dev posts and interviews
There is a chance that Yoshi P just implied that current content in general wasn't for 2.0.... There is a lot of info to pour through to find it though...
I think it would be weird if Ifrit and Garuda were completely cut out of the game at 2.0....
I can't imagine a final fantasy game (Other than XII) where Ifrit is just a footnote in the past
In true SE fashion.. this is as close as I could find to an answer...

ZAM Question #4: Between now and Version 2.0, there's going to be that unique storyline. When Version 2.0 launches, how many missions and quests in the game now will be completely scrapped or redone?
Yoshida: "We can't tell you a lot, but we can say a lot of certain contents will remain in 2.0. For example, big things that have been added like the beast tribe strongholds, you'll still be able to access those and content surrounding those will be kept. Things like the guildleves and the guildleve system we have now, we hope to keep that intact. Then you have things like all the story that is obviously in the now -- the Grand Company type of story, the Garlean Empire, the whole disaster type of scenario -- things like this will probably be, for the most part, 'this is it.' You play it now, and see it now, and that will change.
"The Grand Companies will still be around after 2.0, but, for example, most of the Grand Company quests you see now are all in preparation for this disaster that is approaching. The Garlean Empire is approaching and they're doing all this stuff in secret. Those quests will probably change."
If I had source I would post it, it's just something I vaguely recall. I fully expect Ifrit and Garuda in 2.0 just not in the same fashion as we have now, iirc the battles were added in response to people wanting them added.
I could be way off base with this though.
Quick edit about them being summonable in 2.0, that is free company content so you can be almost certain it won't be the same as what we have now.

Anything related to the 7th Umbral Era will be gone and I would assume the Primals will be reworked into the new story somehow. I mean like you said, can you really imagine an FF game without Ifrit or Garuda? The Moogle fight really has very little to do with the 7th Umbral Era directly. The Garleans just wandered onto Moogle turf and got messed up, they've been seen in The Black Shroud in the main storyline.
Yea... the quote I gave doesn't DIRECTLY answer the question... but it implies that they wont. Or, maybe the Primals exist, and the figths remain... but the quests surrounding them wont... Because Yoshi already stated they would be summonable... Who knowsAnything related to the 7th Umbral Era will be gone and I would assume the Primals will be reworked into the new story somehow.
