Players that play DRK now will never know what it was like to be an OG HW Dark Knight. So a lot of the issues the OG HW DRKS have are going to be dismissed.![]()
did you read the first post? I stated that the whole reason for this thread is to give the new players (mostly WoW players) context about how the game is going downhill in a scarily similar manner to WoW, and I posted changes they could try to fight for the CURRENT version of DRK. This thread was also intended to allow new DRKs to read up on what the remaining veterans have grievances with, so they too can begin to understand where the problems come from and why the kit feels so disjointed.
I know that players don't have context on the older version of the job's kit, but they DO have context on the CURRENT kit and how disjointed it feels. there's a reason more and more new players are posting things all across different platforms about how the resource generation aspect of the kit feels as though it lacks impact, the different abilities have no synergy with each other as opposed to almost every other job in the game, and how they can ask for changes that would benefit the CURRENT kit without coming to another rework. the skeleton is usable, and it could definitely use a good tuning, but since square enix REFUSES to put money back into the game to hire the necessary developers to fix prevalent problems that have existed since HW, money that YOU GUYS are paying, that's how we end up with the situation we are in.

Personally I enjoy the current iteration of DRK but something about it just feels vaguely... wrong?
Dunno, I've been using it and GNB to prog solo HoH and while I really think DRK feels a lot better to play for that kind of content vs GNB it really does seem to be missing any complexity in the kit outside of maybe "How am I going to be popping this TBN?"
Personally I wish they would just get rid of Delirium and revamp the whole job and build around the other skills like blood drain or having TBN generate resources depending on how much of it breaks (Instead of all or nothing like we have since it's not even realistic that it'll break in some fights)

It can be as simple as a meme; all jobs leveled but DRK sits either at 0 or 80. They're going to fix it eventually. By the time they do it however I think most people have moved on.
I'm intending to do that and not just to make a statement but because evaluating the 80-90 progression and traits & skill rewards for playing my 80 Paladin vs Dark Knight, the Clear Choice is 100% Paladin. I'm not leveling up my Dark Knight for Lame Trash like Oblation, Enhanced Unmend, Shadowbringer 2 Charge 60 second CD skill that just sits on hotbar with no interaction with rest of kit, Living Shadow II, No Way! Looks like a huge unrewarding waste of time to level the Dark Knight to 90, there's nothing fun to look forward to.
Holy Sheltron, Enhanced Intervention, Divine Magic Mastery II, Spirits Within Mastery, Super Cool Requiescat CONFITEOR Hard Hitting COMBO every 60 seconds and all that extra mitigation, self heals and heal over time in rotation + mitigation, Paladin or Dark Knight? Paladin All the Way.

Forum is a minority. It literally won't matter. DRK is screwed. They will gravitate to other Tanks with a better kit or move to Reaper that has everything traditional Dark Knights in Final Fantasy fans have wanted for a long time. Especially with the FF XI iteration of Dark Knight.
Might be a minority but people here, at least some, are more qualified to make statements on this job. The myth of the majority is that this is always used in response to a vocal group of people they don't agree with. So the "majority" to put things into perspective, they really don't care. I want to remind people not to respond to someone that is dismissive of our feedback. Please don't give them a platform. If they are happy they can remain as is and play the job, minus to you when it's not even your main and you run your mouth like a dimwit.
As for Reaper.. same thing can happen here. Don't be afraid to say what you think, it's more important to us than them.

Someone in that developement team must really hate this job, it's hard for me to explain the conundrum of additions in 6.0. What went inside the designers head when they created enhanced Unmend.
