Just gimme the ability to craft from my retainers inventory and I’ll buy more retainers. Then I won’t carry as much. I craft a decent amount so I usually have some mats on me even if I don’t intend for them to be there usually.

Any mention of the glam dresser anywhere?
Also, that comment really highlights how poorly coded the system is. Yikes.
You mean 1.0.
FFXIV 1.0 was coded VERY poorly; they used scripts; which at the time they "thought" was the smartest path to go down, but there was also absurdly problematic management in charge.
Given the circumstances they had to build the new version of this game ON TOP of the old version. (There is an actual way to get to the 1.0 version of Limsa, until they patch it that is.)
A lot of this is explained in the NoClip FFXIV Documentary.

Now, I have no idea what this game would have been like if smarter management was involved from the very beginning; but I do know the the original version of FFXIV 1.0 development began very early on in the mid-2000's (2005 I believe?), and was created with Ps3's hardware life-cycle in mind, so that could be why the use of scripts were enforced so heavily.
When Yoshi-P talks about the problems they have with this game's spaghetti code, and how it keeps them from advancing certain features the way they'd wish to: FFXIV 1.0 code is what they are referring to.

Well, at least gathering HQs and belts are being removed, so there's that at least.
They need to do something. I'm pretty much maxed out on glamour wardrobe on my main and that's after going through and removing anything that's easy to get. The game ends up sort of punishing you here for playing more since a person with all the jobs unlocked is going to use more glamour space.
As an aside, I know several people who've stopped buying armors from the mog station since they just don't have anywhere to put them. I'd wager there's a lot of overlap between the type of player that buys glamours from the mogstation and people who end up filling up their glamour wardrobe. So from a purely financial standpoint, it's probably hurting their bottom line on some level too.
I feel anyone complaining about a lack of inventory space is desperately needing to clean out their inventories. I'm holding on a lot of stuff I don't need and I still have space. Throw. Things. Away. You likely have things you're holding on to that you haven't used in months.
I think most people who are having inventory space issues are probably people who have filled up the glamour wardrobe/armory and are down to using inventory space. In general I think the inventory space is fine, the issue is the glamour system doesn't scale at all.I feel anyone complaining about a lack of inventory space is desperately needing to clean out their inventories. My only real complaint about inventory space that isn't glamour related is that SE likes to create tons of new tokens that don't actually go in the token tab for some reason. I swear it's like the team that designed Bozja just totally forgot the token tab was a thing.

I would like to use some angry words. But lets just go with one little thing. Each seasonal event give furniture that I put up when an event is running. Now all SE has to do is add that to a vendor and I can clear a whole(half) retainer. Wait they sell it for real world money and would rather I pay cash for it again. Every christmas I am annoyed because I didn't save the outdoor trees from the event. "It's ok throw it away I can just get another one." Yeah if only I give SE money.
They have never fixed the rmt situation, but still use that as a defence on why you can't store stuff on alts.

If you have all crafts maxed a reasonable amount of mats. A house with seasonal and some furniture set aside. Materia for when new sets come out for over melding. Tokens for current expansion pack. Maybe tokens from mounts you are working on from last expansion if you have questionable luck. That doesn't even include the tokens you pitch because you can't carry tokens from every raiding tier and vendor needs a set amount. All of that probably works out to roughly four retainers. If super careful maybe three with all your inventory full.

I apologize if this sounds like a broken record (I've said it a lot on various posts...), but you can have a total of 8 characters on the same server for the base fee in the game. You have the option to make 7 mules that each have the 175 inventory slots. This alone should hold most of your non-bound stuff, and even exclusive furniture can be moved to mules as long as you have access to your FC house/a friend's house.I would like to use some angry words. And if they didn't force me to move stuff through friend/fc I would. In fact it wasn't uncommon to have to check alt/mules for gear in 11. The fact is they block us from mailing and force us to work around it. Hell Aion at launch had a shared chest space so you didn't have to use mail.
