Oh wait, it looks like you want to be a house flipper to profit yourself. No wonder you're suggesting it.

Not a "house-flipper", save for the sense that I would happily pay to move from a plot I have, to a plot I want. Like I said, my personal "end-game" goal would be to have a plot I like, in the same Ward as my fam and friends. I already have a pretty nice plot, but I'm really hoping whenever Ishgard opens up, to be able to get a cool plot there, instead. There's absolutely no way I would profit from the system, as I'm the one who's asking for a way to BE ABLE to spend gil to trade for a plot I want.

Now in theory, yes, house-flippers may still exist. But only so long as they have a desirable plot. If no one wants to trade plots with them, then that plot is effectively useless.

You could couple this idea with removing the priority-access that relocations gets; if you want to relocate to an empty plot, you should have to use the same Lottery system as everyone else will, however that winds up working out.

I recommend adding a tax there, because for players to want to trade plots, it would obviously involve trading gil as well. As well it SHOULD. But with that hefty 20% tax, that gil just disappears from the economy, meaning that over time, this would level out, at least more so than they currently are.

There will always be players looking for ways to get gil. I got a lot of gil but just dedicating some time to crafting items and selling them. With this system in place, even if you wind up getting a plot you aren't super crazy about, it would give you a means of saying "Alright, I'm gonna spend some time on my tradeskills, get some gil, and then working on getting a plot I REALLY want!"

And like I said, by no means am I suggesting this in lieu of adding more Wards to the game. I would love to see more people able to get houses! All I'm saying is, give us a means to trade our way up, from a Plot we aren't crazy about, to one we can be super happy with!

More importantly I want them to add a feature to convert personal housing into FC.

This obviously wouldn't even be ABLE to make it in time for Ishgard housing, but I genuinely hope this is something the Devs will consider.

Like I said, it would give players a lot more agency in the house they actually wind up with, same of the Ward. I would LOVE to be able to be "neighbors" with my IRL friends and family members, but that is basically impossible as it currently stands.

Take whatever provisions are necessary to make it unappealing for bots or scalpers, but just having that option would be such an awesome, awesome feature.

Gee, we just got rid of relos. And now people effectively want them back - with all the selling and hoarding that goes on it's going to be exploited in 2 shakes of an Ovim's tail.

Here is just one scenario: A housing primal uses their three lalafel bots to get a great house, holds it empty for 6 months, swaps with your Goblet 52 for 400,000,000g and then just abandons your Goblet 52 they got in return. Ot even sells the rank 6 one owner FC that now owns the Goblet 52 to someone without a house... for another 150,000,000.

There are likely a million more scenarios for any set of arbitrary rules the English Forums makes up in this thread.

In 6 months time, should this make it in, then people will be back to screaming "Stop the relos"

There are no fewer houses on the market, so what's the problem? If someone gets a house, this merely gives them the means to at least TRY to trade their plot for someone else's. Again, the Devs could slap fees on top of this process (to gradually erode away some of the MASSIVE gil some players have) and/or take a cut of the transaction.

Otherwise, you're basically telling players "if you got a house, you're not allowed to move". Because let's face it, even with the "lottery" system, players will still have minimal agency; you're going to be scrambling for ANY house.

By opening up the possibility or Trading, it gives agency back to players. Yes, players with more gil will have more leverage in getting the specific plots they want; boo-hoo. Houses are an incredibly desirable thing in the game; if I want to burn my gil getting an awesome plot, that's my choice.

And for the "house-flippers", that effectively only works once. Maybe they enter the lottery and get a great location in Ishgard; cool, they entered just like everyone else. They trade plots with someone, and wind up with one of the lesser plots in Goblet. Nobody wants to trade with them, so they abandon the plot; so it goes back on the market. Maybe they want to enter another raffle, but that was never going to stop anyways.

Strongly against then idea of house trading, ever. Not even once. To big of a risk for RMT to take hold of it.

The Housing RMTers would come back in force. Honestly, though a bit irritating, the recent changes to make relocating just like buying with the random timer until the lottery is added was a good thing. The reason for this being is that Housing RMT was still working just fine by selling houses. Nor were they doing this for Gil, anyone who thinks these people were in it for the gil are kidding themselves. Many housing plots were selling for hundreds of dollars for relocation, and that is actually down from what it was before they made all the changes to home owning. Before that we're talking well over $1000.00 was being charged for larges on busy servers. This would only allow those people to keep on doing, so unfortunately I can't support this idea. It is one of those, people can't be trusted so no one can have nice things.

It's not exactly what you are asking, but I'd like to give up my personal house.. I can't do it right away because I'd lose gil. I have to go through all of the timers.

Let those of us that want to give up our house get a refund of part of it right away.

Use a secret question or something for security.

I just want a way to give my house to another character on my same account. I never play my guys that owns the house and all I want is to pass ownership of it to my “alt”. It kinda blows my mind that I can’t do this.

Wait, isn't this the same guy who suggested FC house should begone because he doesn't want to see these trade?
