I just skimmed through the list of post-Stormblood quests – Garland Tools lists the starting point of each quest so, unless there are any mid-quest flying visits to other regions, that should be a good indicator – and you only travel back and forth six times. That's 3000 gil extra compared to current prices IF you are paying full price both ways, which you shouldn't be.
It's a price rise, but not one that you need to stress over. And the money you get from quests will be covering it.
It's unfortunate that you had to take up the role of being the voice of reason and most importantly, facts but thank you for doing it anyways. As I've said in-game regarding this topic, not only you make more money naturally the teleport fees themselves by the time you reach these areas but there's also the local costs that drastically lower if you teleport in-region.It's still not going to be that drastic. Remember that the raised prices are specifically from La Noscea to Othard. Once the story takes you to Kugane, you stay in the Far East for the next large chunk of the story and will mostly be doing local teleports (or travelling on foot) around there.
As long as they're focusing on the story and not constantly dropping back to Eorzea, they'll be fine – and even if they do, a preferred destination in one continent and a home point in the other should be enough to travel comfortably.
I feel like those complaint threads are people who immediately thought of going from Limsa to overstate regions 10 times in a row and they're afraid of the hole the costs are gonna burn in their wallet.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
Thankyou for posting that! It helps to see the changes in an easy-to-compare format. Seems the new fee adjustments won't be anything to get too worked up about after all. In some cases, it's actually an improvement.
You will be level 60+ when that happens. Are you telling me that a player that's more than half-way to cap can't afford a few k Gil? When every roulette and quest showers you with pocket change? C'mon.
It's different when you play through it all than when you had a couple years to get up to that point. Sure the alt I made to play through it with him has gil, but nowhere near the amount I had on my main that had several years to build up as we waited for new patches and did daily roulettes. But the point being that it will be more expensive to go back and forth between the two for him clearing it and for the rest of us when we did it.
As a loose reference, I do actually have a character part way through the story on an early post HW quest 'In the Eye of the Beholder' as a reference. She has done every dungeon, trial, alliance raid and normal raid..well, for the most part, still some stuff to clear up in HW, but she has never done any roulettes or ran any dungeon more than once. Never spent money on weapons (except to get the crafted weapon to make the ARR relic). This is pretty much as minimal as you can get just playing through the story and unlocking things. I also have not skimped out on using teleports.
Current Gil, 700K, I also have 219 Allagan silver, which is 109.5K gil and another 30K in Allagan gold. There is no chance the teleport fees are going to cripple me and this is before we even get to SB ahere you will get even more gil from quests.
It wouldn't surprise me if someone had a couple of million just doing the story through to the end of ShB.
Doing good work was the pettiest thing people could possibly be upset about thanks for clarifying.
