    Karma.

    That is all.

In fairness I do think that people on the forum are just very negative and overly dramatic when it comes to Job changes and how they play.
I remember people complaining about the same things since ARR and Heavensward, when have Healers ever been happy?

There's some truth to Tanks being homogenized too but people act like they quite literally are the same only with some color swaps.
It's not that none of the complaints have merit just that it's not a recent thing and people do overreact a lot.

People always shit on Twitter but in all honesty Reddit is no better and in some ways I'd actually say that it's worse too.
No one claimed it was but not seeing a thread on the gil cap being removed because it got downvoted because it's a stupid hill to die on is only a positive thing.

Each venue has different norms, people, etc. (though certainly with some overlap), but the contrast is stark.
There an easy reason for this. Here on the forums you can say what you want and there a close to 50/50 on positive and negative. On Reddit if you don't pray 3 times a day to yoshi you be banned. Reddit for a long time 8s a close eco system.

I think the keyword is '' enforce ''.
I don't think that anyone ( or well almost no one ) is going to argue against genuine toxicity being dealt with.
But if someone has a genuine opinion that isn't just praise then it shouldn't be removed.

Even tho I take major issues with people ranting both here and on the Reddit about '' sexualized glams '' and acting like the self-appointed content police.
I still don't think that people should get banned or have it removed because of it.
Unless they're being toxic about it, there's a difference between having an opinion that a lot/ most people will find annoying and wrong and with expressing that opinion in a way that is basically insulting and shaming people.
The latter is the issue I take with one of the more recent threads about someone wanting to hide glams.
Because the OP of that thread basically goes into it with what seems to be the intent to just go lash out at people and it does absolutely nothing but add toxicity and drama.
The OP could've worded it in a way that is more open-minded and not essentially dramabait but they didn't.

That the moderation needs to be better tho I agree with.

That's a bit hyperbolic, yeah? I see exactly one thread on 'teleportation fee complaints'; the only other thread on port fees is actually explaining the fees to get past the hyperbole. As for this place 'drowning in misery,' you have got to be looking at different forums .. this place isn't drowning in misery at all.

You sure you didn't accidentally open up WoW General Discussion? That's misery.

This place is positively peachy compared to forums that are truly 'drowning in misery'.

yeah, I question where people see all the supposed misery in the OF
sure, you have some "bad" complaints here and there, but they're super easy to ignore (which quite a few people are seemingly unable to do) but even some of those have valid points and arguments
the only issue I feel the OF has is, aside from TM and friends, is that people are more often than not fishing for likes with their 'funny' dunks on people without wanting to argue, which usually turns the thread into a shitflinging contest more often than not when they could've simply ignored it if they didn't want to argue
reminds me a bit of reddit/twitter in that way, tbh

4chan is no reddit, but it's far from a small community (way bigger than the OF at least) and I'd love to know what kind of stuff you're on if you think people aren't complaining on the various boards and threads there, way more than the OF does, if they're not posting a sideways looking femra or cat

The OF are seen as "the place you go to let the devs know what you think" (Even though the devs have cited taking feedback from reddit/ twitter and so on. Really no reason to think they gaf about the OF any more than anything else) so the OF seem to be the place most people go to whine and complain with next to zero moderation. That's caused the culture on the OF to be non-stop "Me Me Me, what I want". Add in the general toxic positivity of the FF14 fandom in some regards AND the fact that you can only "like" things but not "dislike", and you have a collection of people who just scream about wanting XYZ without having to critically think about their discussions.

Reddit is its own community with its own problems linked to FF14's toxic positivity, but at the very least that subreddit can band together to boot topics they're tired of hearing about. Here, you can't stop some troll from making troll threads and everyone seems encouraged/ emboldened to just B&M about every aspect of the game with.

I'd found that large communities for games like this that are widely beloved by the playerbase can tend to be positive, as ... people generally like coming together to talk about ish they like when they're having fun. That's what I see on 4chan and discords at least. I think 4chan accepts the game for what it is the most of any community, the good and bad and ugly of it. Same with FB groups, the smaller the community, the more likely it seems that people will be honest and accepting about things.

Reddit is full of "Stepford Players". Anyone not happy with EVERYTHING tends to get murdered and their body hidden.
