Not this again... Go stare at a mirror if you only want to look at clothes you approve of.

I personally wouldn't want other players to decide what my characters are wearing. Glamours are a big deal to me because they display my character's charisma; I wouldn't like that to be replaced by anything else.

I have seen this said on many of these types of threads and all I can say is your character is already being changed on some people's screens as it is with mods. Furthermore, why should you get to dictate someone else's game experience. If the change is client side only I don't see why a player that would be on my screen for 2 seconds as I run along the street in limsa should say to me how I should see the world. I wouldn't use the toggle myself, I like to see some of the creative glams people come up with. But I don't like the stupid chicken heads etc running around either when I am in a fight for the first time that is supposed to have great meaning and I am stood fighting alongside a giant joke. It kinda ruins the moment.

I think we should stop pretending this has anything to do with immersion. All it is is disliking someone's glam.

Seriously this is not traditional fantasy game. Having glammed clothing fits in this world. I can argue you would ruin the person who has glammered their armors immersion by prohibiting them from showing it off. This topic is becoming a troll topic now. Just stop.
Enjoy Life you only get one.

There really is no lore breaking glam in the game though. Between futuristic stuff from allag, kinda modern looking aesthetic from garlemald and bozja and the sillyness godbert and hildibrand have, everything is covered. The immersion you seek is not really in this game.
I heavily doubt turning off people's glams would improve anyone's experience. The amount of whacky frogs or something like that is really not that high but instead you'd have everyone running around in truly eye assaulting gear abominations.

I don't have a vested interest in this, save only for the actual technical relief it could provide players but I still think it's silly that someone would take a client sided generic glam toggle--a discreet one at that--as an affront to their glam.
It's comical in the sense that in a hypothetical scenario where this feature is real, I just imagine someone looking furtively in all directions wondering if someone toggled off their glams and god forbid they find that one person who openly admits in chat that they have the feature on.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
How is it immersion breaking etc when glamour magic is literally part of the actual lore and is even used in VERY drastic ways in the actual story?
Particularly in Stormblood there's a couple of times that come to mind.
People using glamour magic on their breastplate to make it look like a shirt or even be invisible is not unbelievable in this setting it actually makes a whole lot more sense than you might think.
Edit: Also especially since we're the WoL.
We have the resources to customize our gear, we're not poor or just a normal soldier.
We're the freaking WoL we can bling ourselves out just like how nobility and kings historically spent a whole lot of money on blinging their weapons and armor out.
There are swords that were commissioned that were worth entire castles alone.
You think the WoL can't afford glam prisms and won't know how to use them?
