Just make it so while the DRG has 1 or 2 eyes they have a blue aura, then when they enter life, it changes to red.

That seems to be the general consensus here as to what should happen! I've seen another suggestion that the aura be tied to the buff granted by Disembowel, which is another neat idea.
Others have said what I was thinking: Let Blood of the Dragon and it's beautiful blue aura be activated when we use Mirage Dive and open one of our eyes. It'd then turn red when we enter Life of the Dragon.
I may make a separate post, but I wanted to know how people feel about Chaotic Spring? Personally, I've disappointed in the flower petals, which are very much a thing of the past and clash with the rest of our visual identity. I think it would have been much more fitting for them to give us particle effects like those in the Nidhogg EX fight.
Issue is the trait is always active. Another is you still lose out on your character's 'battle cry' animation that they do when they activate the ability. Not sure how set on DRG mains are on just having the dragon aura, but for me personally, that battle cry animation is 90% of what I enjoy about that buff. As far as the Aura goes, that's easy enough to activate automatically in the same way combo bonuses work.
Having the character animation is, I think, the more difficult part. Assuming the memory issues are worked out the the aura kicks in (either at one dragon eye, or with the Disembowel buff, or whatever), if the battle cry animation is used, it needs a place to be. The only thing I can think that makes sense is Battle Litany, but that has a nice animation already and I doubt they'd want to replace it.Issue is the trait is always active. This difficulty is part of the reason why this is focused on the aura specifically, though I think the BotD character motion would make a great emote.
It definitely should activate after opening an eye. It fits really well there, and I think it's a good "in universe" progression where our character doesn't have to separately "power up" to get to that level anymore. It also fits really well with that new Red and Blue Dragoon attack.
Hope we get it back.
agree, pls i would like to keep my blue glow. as effect for an open eye seems nice.
As an aside, because I keep thinking about it, I do remember the comment that without the blue aura the red one is "more special"
For whatever reason, that annoys me. Did anyone want Life of the Dragoon to be "more special"? Honestly, I'd turn the red aura off and stay blue all the time if I had a choice (though I know not everyone would agree)
Well, a plus side of the Endwalker delay is we have two more weeks to enjoy our auras before they go away (hopefully temporarily)
SE will bring it back for DRG and MNK that's what Yoshi-P have said, cheers : p
