    Teleportation Fees Increase & Leveling Conundrum (Live Letter Response)

    As a capped level player, I fully accept that I should be paying a lot more for teleport fees, honestly I should be paying even more. And the Live Letter on 9/17/2021 is justified only for people like me, but severely hurts others.

    The people it does hurt, though, are leveling players.

    Here's my requested proposal. Keep the 6.0 teleportation fee market, but adjust the full percentage of cost based on a player's highest level.

    Example:

    In the video, a teleport from Costa Del Sol to Kugane was 1,442 gil.

    Highest job is L80 to L90: Pays 100% of teleportation cost.
    Cost: 1442 gil.

    Highest job is L70 to L79: Pays 90% of teleportation cost.
    Cost: 1298 gil.
    • Highest job is L60 to L69: Pays 80%. Cost: 1154 gil
    • Highest job is L50 to L59: Pays 70%. Cost: 1009 gil
    • Highest job is L40 to L49: Pays 60%. Cost: 865 gil
    • Highest job is L30 to L39: Pays 50%. Cost: 721 gil
    • Highest job is L20 to L21: Pays 40%. Cost: 576 gil
    • Highest job is L10 to L19: Pays 30%. Cost: 433 gil
    • Highest job is L1 to L19: Pays 20%. Cost: 288 gil

    *Achievements already exist to calculate this, and the existing cap level bonuses, known as the Armoury Bonus, prove that this system is already in place since the game began.

    The percentages might seem unfair at first, but when you break down the actual amount of gil, it more accurately reflects the amount of money we had at that time. 300 was a lot when we were killing non-aggro mobs at L5.

    A flat rate just keeps people like me rich and poor players really, really poor.

    if its calculated off your highest level, how exactly is it hurting people who couldnt travel to places like Kugane anyway?

    this isnt a 1500 gil cost across the board. if you are travelling Costa to Limsa, it wont be 1500.

    this barely changes anything except for upper level players, and if you dont have the gil at that point, you are doing something wrong.

    I don't think this is going to be the big problem that you imagine. It will get players utilizing some of the other methods to reduce/avoid the fees, such as going to Limsa to take the East Aldenard ship to Kugane for 300 gil (or 450 if we see a similar increase to the ferry amounts) instead of paying 1440 to teleport.

    Aetheryte tickets will continue to exist as well, though it sounds like they might be switching to some sort of discount system (reduce teleporation fee by 500 gil/50% or whatever) instead of replacing the teleport fee. Those are very easy to get through Allied/Centurio Seals, and players are sometimes earning gil at the same time they earn the seals.

    It's not the teleport fees that keep players poor. It's a rare quest that doesn't reward gil in excess of any teleport fees involved during the quest. It's the bad spending habits that keep them poor.

    As a casual player, I was capped level long before going to Ishgard with all the daily leveling.
    For hardcore players (rushing to ShB content), they'd be focused on time efficiency and the quest rewards will even out the costs anyway.

    So I don't think it will hit hard to majority.

    I think they should move teleport fees to repair or melding cost or some other kind of sink.

    As stated there are work arounds and you don't HAVE to teleport everyplace. If convenience is more important to you then you pay for it, simple as that. There is no need to adjust teleport prices.
