"The Americas", sure (and it's a name implying ther there are at least two of them), but I've never seen the whole double-continent landmass referred to as simply "America". That means USA to the vast majority of people.

Perhaps it's used differently in America itself.

In any case you should be wanting to separate out the continents of North America and South America simply because "The Americas" is such a huge geographical range that you want to split it out in your data.

Continent-wise, "Central America" is still part of North America.

Well, if I try to get some data, I would ask in as many social groups as possible to get a variety of data. And of course I wouldn't play all of those games.
