I started my Final Fantasy 14 adventure just 2 days ago, and Im happy to say I find it quite wonderful, but a few things concern me that make this game unenjoyable for me. But first I want to say this game is wonderfully beautiful and memorizing, and Im happy I picked it up again. But these fixes need to be made.
-New/More low level armor. This is probably the worse thing right here, there are no npcs that sell low level gear, and the 1 that i did, the price wasnt even worth it. like 10-15k for level 10-15 gear each piece. Its hard getting low level gear/gil. it was almost ridiculous, and I almost turned away from the game because of this. I suggest doing this soon, or honestly I think alot of people will or already have turned away because of this non existance armor/weapon npc. There arent enough ppl for this game to use the craft/buy feature effectively, so do what you can for the players that are playing. New ppl dont have the resources or gil to go find someone who will craft, or to buy 10-15k items. Not to mention the fact that I shouted for almost an hour for help or a crafter and no one even responded not even a rude remark.
-search/invite/party/messaging I can almost see why people dont want talk or invite people at low levels, there is no search for a player or anything like that. there search for jobs etc, but thats it. Unless your near someone it seems hopeless to invite from afar. So I think a better search option should be thought about. I find myself at a loss when it comes to messaging someone, I not only have to memorize the first name and now the last name, I find it difficult to recontact someone after a disconnect because of a lack of proper search function.
Low Level NMs - I was shocked when I heard the first nm I run into is around 25, I almost lost it, one of my favorite things about mmorpgs is camping nms. I was thinking why not add in lower level 1-25 nms, and to prevent over camping/gil sellers make it nontradable/rare-ex or maybe make it so 10 levels or higher you get no drops. This could also fix the low level gear problem, AND you can seperate the NMs between the Countrys so the player has to explore each country to find the nm. But make it fair nms for each job that wears different gear I suppose would be best.
Guildleves - These make leveling more enjoyable, there like quests without the whole story thing going on. but this is like the field manual in FFXI, but I personally think you shouldnt have to wait 12 hours to gear 4 new ones, grinding just sucks, and especially when no one wants to party and all you can do is solo. if your gonna make ppl solo this much either let them quest throu the levels or use guildleves. Dont put a cap on it. Especially if your going to walk a different path from party ffxi. Even add low level guildleves make ppl interact with each other.
Teleporting/Anima - I dont know if this is a good or bad thing, Teleporting makes things a lot easier, but at the cost of 1 anima every 4 hours. At least add teleporting in the game to whm/blm. But instead of to the camps to certain areas.
Retainers/Auction House - This is probably the most annoying thing so far, there is no auction house. Retainers sell things for players which you can search for items via npc. Alright, 1 of 2 things need to be done here, a better search button, like level, type, of weapon/armor/material more organized and easy access. Half the time I dont even know what Im looking for make an option list with head body hands etc. OR just make a darn Auction House. How the heck can you tell players that npcs WILL not sell armor but then provide no auction house. Its almost an oxymoron.
Overall - With these minor flaws, this game is wonderful. I havent played too far into it, but these are the biggest problems for me and I dont think I will get used to these at all. I know SE wanted to make a good rpg for everyone to enjoy. I love the battle system, I love that SE comes up with a new way to invent the skill system each time they come out with a game. I think with some adjustments I think this could be the best mmorpg out there hands down.
