How To Transferring Money From One Character To The Other?

Hello.

I would like to ask if it's possible to transfer money and/or items from one character to the next in the same world? I just find it a bit bizarre that FFXIV doesn't have a banking system where you can store your money/items which is accessible to your other characters in the same world or server like in ESO.

I don't believe you can do so in FF. The only other way I believe people do it is using a FC chest for items. As for gil, I don't think it is transferable unless you have someone you can trust to trade it to your alt.

You could possibly pull Marketboard shenanigans - have the char you need the money on sell something through a retainer, and buy it with the other character.

Otherwise I'm too rusty to remember any other ways

FC Chest can be used to transfer gil and items between characters in the same FC.

If you don't have access to an FC Chest, then you can trade items/gil to someone you trust to hold while you change characters.
Keep in mind there is a limit to the amount of 1m gil that can be transferred between players per each trade window. So transferring large amounts of gil this way is not ideal.

And as was mentioned, if neither of the above options are feasible, you could list an item on the MB for a large amount of gil on one character, and then buy it on the first character to move gil between them... however, you'll be taxed twice this way and some of the gil will go poof. Could also move items this way... but you risk someone else buying up your stock while changing characters.

So, basically. If I want to transfer money from A character for example to B character, the B character should sell something for the A character to buy it from, right?

I don't want to transfer that much money really(around 20k gil). Let's say my character A is in a FC, doesn't it mean that my character B that I want to transfer my money to also needs to join the FC as well?

Yah both characters have to be in the same FC, AND have access to that feature of the FC chest
If you're in somebody else's FC, then you most likely won't have access to that feature.

IMO, 20k gil isn't even worth transferring. You can make that easily just by doing the Challenge Log and Daily Roulettes.

1. you ask a trusted friend
2. you use the FC chest
3. you sell an object that is not worth anything for a lot of money, only you will buy it of course with your main, but there is a tax as with every sale and purchase.

You don't usually need to transfer gil or items between characters because most people have no need for multiple characters. You can play all classes on the same character.

FC chest is the easiest and quickest way to transfer items, but most FC won't let you take gil, but you could sell a 1 gil items for the amount of gil you want to transfer and then buy it with the other character.
