Of course, I mention this before. Yoshi-P advice, please don't use it. And follow up, they don't want any spy program on us. It is like your government put you a neckless or wrist or track your face to see if your behaviour is good with the society (chincof cof ...a) :vYoshi-P has spoken on this. If they followed the ToS to the letter even things like discord would be against the ToS. Same with VPNs software to run gamepads or MMO mice. It would also require them to put basically spyware onto your computer, which they do not want to do, because they seem to at least somewhat respect privacy of the players unlike so many other MMOs.
But this doesn't mean your behaviour be disrespectful toward others, you agree to follow the agreement (the rules of this game). If you want changes you have the support desk and forums, they may implement if they see not bad for whole game structure. This is based also on trust players they are going to use in good way the game.
why you care how people want to play?_?I won't name them or the link them but there is now a super popular ui modification, only available on PC that is making the game look like a popular WoW ui. I think this is a step too far (arguably damage meters already were) and since they are technically a violation of the games terms of service, its time to put the foot down and enforce the already existing rules.
It puts players who actually play by rules and/or on console at a significant disadvantage on higher end content.
Either change the TOS to allow these addons or actually enforce the fact that they are against the rules (preferred option.)
Streamers and youtubers openly defy the rules of the game using these modifications and nothing is done about it. If we are going to ignore these things, please let me know which rules are breakable and which are not.
its change how in game mechanics works? its effect you?
the only time you can start care at how people play is when its in your party.
if this is in no way effect you you got no say at this. so stop looking like a full
OP seems more upset about his choice of a console over a PC
Both issues are kinda SE fault:
Why didn't they make a proper ui that allows customisation, dmg dealt/received color change, remove the text part, filter floating combat stuff you don't want to see, visual proc options (for example monk forms, who seriously reads or keeps track of opop dopo dupa dapa dimba forms?? who reads during a fight??) SHOW. Don't tell.
And then they made end content so hard it's down to milliseconds to avoid lethal dmg, of course players want and need some tools that inform them clearly about these things.
I see nothing wrong in pc users installing addons to get what the game should have provided them with from the start.
Well if this game didn't have so much to improve on, I wouldn't have to suggest this much, would I...?
What exactly about WoW UI gives an advantage?
I modded my WoW UI to look like FFXIV with an addon lol.
Probably when you started using examples of racism to explain why using mods is "bad". Further, when you Godwinned the thread in post #184.
Stop being deliberately obtuse. You can't drop a small nuke on the argument ("If you condone addon use, it's as bad as condoning racism,") and then walk away and expect no retort.
If you feel this discussion should be finished, don't respond. That's how conversation works. When you're done, you're done, so you stop. If you volley it back to me, I can and will respond to anything I feel I want or need to.
"If you pay attention to the world, it's an amazing place. If you don't, it's whatever you think it is.” – Reggie Watts
Another non issue the FFXIV fanbase over hypes and hinges on to. If you dont like the UIs dont use them and dont interact with people who use it. There is no way this could possible hurt you in any way or form unless your ego is so fragile you feel like it takes something away from your own accomplishments.
Honest question, (please dont attack me)
-But is UI options/customization really a bad thing? Seems to me that if say wow/elv users can duplicate what they are "comfortable" with then that would make them more comfortable and stick around in this game? -just an example.
-Now I'm not defending how mods can be used in a derogatory way, however im genuinely curious as to why "options" to make people enjoy the game more are a bad thing?
"You are just going to give me one of those stoic nods aren't you?"

(one of my favorite moments)
Kind of Shocked that someone has mad a UI mod, honestly once you understand the UI system and how to modify the built in it's kind of already like Bartender from WOW, with added marco functionality allowing for some truely neat tricks. Which I am using to make 3 to 4 times more buttons than standard. With them all set to one Bar off to the side of my screen.
