Jesus christ .. get a life manSee post#7.
Also, I made this thread because I am upset at the flaunting of it nonchalantly by streamers right now. Other games have had security protocols like "Warden" to prevent this sort of things for years. It is remarkable to me that the are okay with third party software literally modifying their code. These aren't some LUA interface files. These are no different to me than cheats or trainers for other games.
Imagine taking time out of your day to complain about UI mods of all things.
Imagine.
WoW had its share of UI mods that created game play advantages Blizzard did not like by automatically changing colors on UI elements based on certain conditions, etc. Most UI mods don't do those things but the potential is there.
There's big difference between WoW where everyone is PC/Mac and has access to the same mods if they want to use them, a game like ESO where PC and console players have segregated servers so what the PC players do won't affect console players, and FFXIV where everyone players on the same servers. I think that's a big reason why SE says no mods. PC players would be able to do things that the console players can't.
Basically this. The entire post smells of troll bait and it is at 11 pages. I take a break to deal with Hurricane Ida stuff and you guys fall for low tier bait like this? The guy even makes a general statement that Yoshi P explained like last month about damage meters and you guys just go with it?
TBH at this point I feel almost no one cares if ppl file swap their glamours to look different on their client or decide to put gaudy borders around their menu bars.Basically this. The conflict happens when it comes to the UI mods that either run functions in game automatically or display data the game doesn't display on its own. The people using these types of mods argue that they are QoL improvements and are OK because they're benefitting from them. The people not using them essentially view these types of mods as performance enhancers or cheats that should be removed which are mostly made up of people with the integrity to follow the ToS without a looming big brother waving around the threat of insta-ban the moment you do something against it and players on console that do not have access to such mods.
Honestly is the same stupid argument you see on games when a highly beneficial glitch or exploit is found and people start abusing it to the point it gets patched out after getting attention from the game's devs.
Well, how are YOU affected by those who do not like, the idea of UI Mods and Addons?
Are you worried that if SE, starts to take an aggressive approach against those found to be making use of said Mods/Addons that you, yourself would be at fault too?
Maybe you're worried that, if say, you're found to be using these Mods/Addons that action against your account may be taken, and result in you getting banned?
I mean, if the OP shouldn't be bothered by these people who use them, than you shouldn't be affected by it either, right?
You shift from "How are you affected by the people who don't like mods" (as if school yard level reversing is a got 'em) to shifting to speculation of SE's reaction - one has nothing to do with the other.Well, how are YOU affected by those who do not like, the idea of UI Mods and Addons?

Because they have no argument. They need to accept that SE isn't going to do anything about it because they can't scan our computers to find it.
Damage metres are effecting other players and the community . "why arent you doing enough damage?" Additionally its giving you advantages over others.
Because you arent supposed to look into the gaming code / damage numbers of others.
And i dont even get why players need it. Are you guys so damn bad at the game that you need extra damage metres like that to display yourself if you are bad at your damn rotation and equipment?
Just play the damn game and not the gaming code and numbers. Enjoy it for what it is, and dont try to change it.
Sorry, but its pathetic. If you want to work with numbers all day long you guys can do my job, i am working with numbers and Excel sheets all day long..
Last but not least: Its against the rules... is it so hard to stick with the rules and leave a game as it is?!
