    Frontline Achievements Requiring Wins

    Short version: They shouldn't.

    Or at least, not ones that have the collectible rewards locked behind them. As it stands Frontline has been boiled down to as much of a 'player friendly' 3-way experience as possible. Meaning that 66.6% of your time will feel entirely wasted when it comes to progressing towards those achievements.

    It's probably just wishful thinking blowing air into the wind, but an easy change would be to alter win to participation. Increase the required amount and overall it would be a net improvement to the experience, knowing that at least you're making progress.

    It certainly isn't prestigious in any way to have win-based achievements, because it just boils down to getting lucky and being on the team that is most competent in the match. The difference between winning 100 games and participating in 300 is quite literally nothing with the current design, yet one would be far less destructive to motivation when you go on those streaks of nothing but 3rd place.

    Frontline is so flawed that putting emphasis on winning is just rubbing salt into the wound.

    They could use better matchmaking. Certain players can almost carry groups. So if you are a 20 kill player, I would expect your win % be way closer to 66. They could scale other rewards better to not get people to give up as much either.



    Also it is not that bad you can always work on it. It would be better if they learned not to tie achievements to zones. Which greatly increases your time. Think of it this way. It is less then S rank, less then Firmament, mentor mount, or less time consuming then lots of other content. You also get other stuff on top of it.



    Good luck if it isn't a zone achievement you should have it in a few weeks. Just if the groups are bad one night just stop pvping that night. It can make it quite miserable when you have a goal.

    You're unnecessarily attempting to invalidate the point of the post. The suggestion had nothing to do with time spent- it has to do with the consistency of the experience.

    This isn't true at all, nor is it relevant to the majority of people.

    It is less then S rank, less then Firmament, mentor mount.
    None of these things are similar- and I can personally say it's not even accurate in regards to Firmament. S ranks and Mentor roulettes also do not compare, as those are... Participation. Ironically the very thing I'm suggesting for Frontline achievements. If you queue a Mentor roulette, or go on a hunt train, you will always make progress towards the achievement. If you queue Frontline you're as likely to get no progress as you are to get a single entry.

    unlike ranked feast, frontlines won't be going away anytime soon. it is a grind after all this is an mmo. so grind grind grind. you will get it eventually. just be prepared to wait a long time for them. took me about 3-4 years to get all the frontlines/rival wings rewards (pvp ponies, field commander gear, all ADS mounts, both magitek gorillas)

    No thanks. Changing it from wins to participation would lead to a lot of people just being AFK or trying to throw the matches so they end faster. Clearly you don't care about the overall quality of matches where people actually try to win.

    I tend to get more wins each week than 2nd or 3rd place. It could be because I'm willing to switch to healer when there's none or only 1 in the party. Maybe you should too.

    Please do not be confused with difference between participation reward (exp/token) and achievement reward (mount/commander)
    Achievement reward is something for us to work on.
