Palace of the dead server disconnect caused me to lose progress

I had started my first ever palace of the dead solo run, i was at floor 65 and i was walking towards the exit of the floor and randomly got a server connection is lost error, upon instantly logging in as fast as possible again, i saw myself out of the instance, and seen that my run counted as if it had a death and said i couldn't continue any further.

This was really unfortunate and feels pretty bad.
I'd hope no one else has to go through this so i'm submitting this here as i've been told it's sadly not possible to restore my progress by a GM.

Yeah that's a huge issue with trying to solo palace. A single disconnect and it counts as a loss.

It seems to be entirely intentional to prevent people from force quitting to avoid death.

No not that. As in being disconnected counts as a loss to stop players from disconnecting themselves on purpose to avoid being killed by monsters in palace.

Riight that sounds logical, but oh dear does it suck to have been on my first ever run and it wasn't even my internet but simply the ffxiv server losing connection and just losing my progress all together :/
guess there's not much to do about it..

As also a suggestion to fix this because im genuinely scared to start a new run now....
is there a way to seperate and know when someone intentionally uses f4 or something or disconnects their internet, and from when it's genuinely server side?
that'd really be a fix (i think at least) i have no idea how hard it is to implement but i'm genuinely scared now to start a new run, put time into it and have it all be for nothing if the server disconnects again :/
