How many of you guys do chocobo racing.

Simple question, I want the gold saucer items, but i don’t want to go against the 300K people in there trying to grief the boldgold’. Can someone be brave enough to try going into the chocobo race track and tell me if there is any chance of me winning?

Chocobo racing is pretty dead except during make it rain in my experience.

I did it until I got the perfect racing chocobo and then never touched it again. I think I came across a fellow player a handful of times in the upper tier races.

I started doing chocobo racing during the Make it Rain event, and I got hooked. It's fun! Granted, I'm nowhere near high-tier level (I think I have a third-generation bird right now?) but I don't typically have much problem placing well or somewhat often getting 1st. Has something happened since this FFXV event started? What kind of griefing are you referring to?

You will be ok.
The races get padded with NPCs so you always stand a chance.
And even if you get last you still make progress on your bird.

I do racing regularly. Most of the time it's NPC. Occasionally you will face 1-3 players.

You don't need to win it but if you follow the tutorial properly, get some good stamina regen chocobo actions and Grade 3 feed, you will have a much better chance of winning. Most players are not very good so doing these things makes it easy to win most of the time.

You get put into tiers based on your stats so someone who has far greater stats and is impossible to win over cannot be in a race with you, so don't worry about that.

If you're after MGP: No. Just do fashion report and grind out the other games.

If you're just looking to experience Choco Racing and grind up a birb: Go for it.

If you're after MGP: No.

To expand on this:
When you first start out chocobo racing uses more MGP than it generates. However, after a time that balances out. But by the end racing is hands down the fastest and most lucrative way of gaining MPG.
If you're gonna be a gokd Saucer regular it wouldn't hurt to get into it for the long term benefits. But yeah, don't bother for the MGP otherwise.
