The Homogeneity in mitigation capabilities actually allows for them to be more creative in Fight design while still allowing all the tanks to be viable. Homogeneity in tank damage patterns prevents fights from breaking due to one tank being able to kill an add faster than intended.
In all honestly, I agree with this hot take. I think that the functions of tanks should be to an extent homogenized. That way they can focus more on how they deal dmg or their combat kits. The combat kits should be what gives them that unique flavor and that is vastly more easy to tailor to the class than a unique mitigation kit. A unique mitigation kit, in almost every single circumstance, will cause more problems than it helps for overall gameplay. If they just make warrior and dark a bit more unique dmg kit wise I think we will be in a really good spot. Gunbreaker feels good, Palladin feels good (except when level gets lowered for lower level dungeons), and dark/warrior are really close to that similar sweet spot.
