Street fighter III 3rd strike was the last fighting game I played and even then, I was only half decent at it. Everything else is beyond my skill level by a mile.

Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
When I was a kid in elementary school, we used to turn our gym into a haunted house(before everyone was offended by it) and there'd be a lot of activities including a couple tvs with a genesis and a snes set up on a couple desks with SSF2T and MK2. That was the first time I understood what "ranked matches" felt like. When mk9 dropped my buddy bought it and I rushed over with my beer to hit the tag team mode....sadly there is no coop in X or 11 despite people begging for it. If yall haven't played granblue its absolutely worth a try. There may be a demo or something, its just really solid and well made.
Maybe this would belong in the off-topic thread tho.
But yes fighting games is my favorite genre of games.
Big reason why I play MNK.

I love fighting games. From DOA to Guilty Gear.
My favorite is Blazblue - Calamity Trigger. I never thought to find a fighting game with a complex story and a fighting system, which is well balanced, fast, easy to learn but hard to master.
Many ppl love Street Fighter. But I hate that you have tons of characters, but actually only 4 different fighting styles (like Ken, Ryu, Sagat, Akuma, Sakura and Dan. They all have a an uppercut, a projectile and a forward kick. All with a tiny difference). The best Street Fighter game is the HD Remix from Street Fighter 2.
Soul Calibur was always a nice title. Much customization, a good story, a great soundtrack and many things to do outside of the regular tournament.
Dead or Alive was my favorite for a long time. I like the tactical gameplay and the graphics. Until Tecmo got greedy af. They rather extend their shop instead of adding features or fixing the game. On Steam, you have to pay over 1.000 USD for any DLC for DOA5! Its pretty disappointed to see how damn much Tekken 7 got in comparision.

Soul Calibur with rollback would be a dream come true, hopefully the success of Strive has proven how important good netcode is, the next KoF will have it too which is hype as hell.
The most frustrating part about fighting games is easily how poor the netcodes tend to be, which is such a fundamental and important thing and yet it gets neglected so often.
I'm very fond of Tekken and Soul Calibur. I decided to name my character in honour of Kazuya from Tekken.
I dabble in Mortal Kombat from time to time, one of my BRD glams is inspired by Ashrah
The only Fighting game I particularly like is so old that it can be played on a DOS emulator on browsers nowadays...
