    You don't have to pay to mute them. Just go into System Configuration - Sound - and mute Performance.

    As for paying you because you don't like them, that's never going to happen. Players abuse those sorts of systems. One of the indie developers that makes some of the most positively reviewed games on Steam just recently stopped making more games. Why? Because his games were very short when it comes to time played and players were abusing Steam's refund policy once they finished playing to get the refund even though they enjoyed the game.

    Likewise, we would see players who liked a Bard's performance say it sucked just get whatever gil the game would give them for saying it sucked.

    I actually really like this idea. I see people literally giving performers gil a lot of the time (someone gave me 1k gil for playing a small part of a song for a show they watched as a child). I don't see why not. It's not like they'd have to put a limit on it, either, because it'd be the same as giving gil through trade.
