WHM needs Spiritual Ray, Flood and Tornado added to its DPS kit with a huge potency increase so that we can get the real feel of being a mage, not some feeble conjurer that is still casting Medica II in savage. WHM is far from being OP.Desirability? Dare I say meta? We've always been strong healing powerhouses, but weren't dps powerhouses before. We were far outclassed by SCH and AST there and both those classes had more utility. SE had to adjust Assize, make Holy not limited in number of mobs, and give us Thin Air before we got competitive in the dps department. Our lily mechanic was one of the most useless systems when it first came out, because it depended on abilities we hardly ever used. Then that got adjusted and we got the massively powerful Blood Lily. We're honestly rather OP and I've hoped SE would either dial us back or boost SCH and AST past us again.
WHM does not need to be a dps class.
Tanks can only do their job by dpsing which makes them a primary dps class that tanks. The new tank job has the most interesting rotation from all tanks because of that. It would be the same with sage unless they really take their time to give each healer interesting DPS buttons. We already are a primary dps class that heals. Not only because there is nothing to heal but what needs to be healed can be covered with oGCDs.
Also, giving WHM three more Damaging spells won't turn it into a DPS. If you think more buttons will change a job's primary function, then these last two years of dumbed down one button spam downtime have taught you nothing.
If you want healers to heal more, give us situations where we actually need to use our heals rather than take away non-healing relates abilities.
Catching back up on this after a while, and I really want to add that I agree with this. It's a big part of why I swapped from healing primarily to tanking. Most of a tank's kit is damage rotations. The animations are fun, putting out damage is fun, but I'm still tanking. I still have unique tank abilities. The healing in this game just isn't intensive. There is almost no surprise damage. And there is what feels like an awful lot of downtime between healing. Especially in full party content. Savage calls for a bit more but it's even more predictable and pattern based. Everything is balanced on the assumption that healers will be chucking in damage. And one button DPSing has gotten stale. I really want either more healing, or more dps options. Even just a three step combo to spice things up. Healing is boring in this game as is.Also, giving WHM three more Damaging spells won't turn it into a DPS. odd when i was leveling my other tanks and healers for all 80 the tank and healer que was massive i like number 74 in lineon omega maybe all the wow refugees decided to be tank and healers and that's where the massive que came from considering it was always instant que before
