About Blue mage?

Not sure I understand the process of becoming a blue mage? I know you start the quest in Limsa. Any tips or advice from the blue mages out there is welcome. I read you can learn beast spells from the things you fight any particular path to follow for that, that is good? Appreciate any advice.

Get thousand needles ASAP from the cactuars near little Ala Mhigho.
While leveling, get all the spells that are not linked to a trial/raid.

best thing to do, find out what spells are available where... go out with an 80 friend or two... (dont be grouped) hit things about 6+ levels higher and then your friends kill them.. massive xp, Blu is given a LOT of xp so leveling is very very fast doing it that way.

for the various spells, most are just out in the world, you attack the creatures, if it gets the spell off, and you live, you have a chance to learn it. anything dungeon related, there are often blu only groups that are in PF which you could join and get them, or use the same friends, unsynch and run the dungeon until you get the spell.

That's a good site I use it often, I just wanted to talk to other blue mages about what if any spells or tips they have found that were awesome. Thanks for the link it's a great site.

thousand needles is a good starter, certainly helps if you are out and about on your own until you get some of the bigger spells

You can go directly to hitting lvl 70 mobs once and getting a lvl 80 friend to beat them, the first kill gives like 19 levels, its pretty sillly

Hi! It’s great, but only after you have already made a big investment.

Basically:

1) cheese level yourself ASAP and…
1b) Get open world spells as you can.
2) Start doing the masked carnival, some stages will require certain spells. Skip the ones you can’t do and work on getting spells needed.
3) Begin putting together a competent DPS build; sonic boom is a great single target, electro genesis is great AoE. The main reason for this is, if you do something at level (no unsync) you will 100% learn stuff…but in order to not be dead weight in a party, you need some basics.
4) Get combo spells in dungeons/open world.
4a) ram’s voice ->ultra vibration is insta death AoE with a cool down.
4b) whistle->tingle->triple trident powerful single target
5) Work on you oGCDs (mostly primals)

While doing all of that, also work on your healer set (Pom cure, gobskin is all you really need)

Eventually, you will have a basic core blue build that suits you and can do dungeons as any role (tank is not as effective with lower armor but it’s possible), but since you can save builds you can also make more specific ones for certain content.

Also, I see a lot of talk about massive final sting damage…I’ve tried it but haven’t been impressed by it yet. So if you see that and wonder “wtf am I doing wrong?” I also don’t know what’s going on there (probably my gear?)
