Ranked pvp rating decay

Greetings Square Enix,

I would like to suggest implementing rating decay. Currently i see no rating decay for not participating in ranked pvp. This allows players which achieve their desired rating early in the season to not participate in pvp and hold their rating, which is not right in my opinion. I believe there should be rating decay when a player do not do ranked pvp for surtain period of time.

Doesnt really help. There are just too few people interested in Feast and the lower brackets completely die out while diamond-platinum stays active for the most of the season anyways.

For example in my data center diamond-platinum was the most active bracket for many seasons while unranked-gold was completely dead. Even if you would force players to play 1 match every day people would play that one match and be done for the day and nothing would change. There are not enough players playing in total so the lower brackets dont get games and people dont get pushed up towards platinum where they will be pushing people away from the top 100 list forcing people to play again. Maybe if you give -1000 rating penalty for skipping 1 day of Feast will drop people to silver-gold so they can help the lower brackets xD The mode should do more to encourage people to play it instead punish. For example the rewards for not placing within the top 100 is very small and it discourages people from trying the mode.

That 1 match a day would not be a win aways which means that you will have to do more to keep up your rating so even 1 match a day would help. That is much much better than entering plat in the first 2 weeks of a season and not playing for the rest of the season in my opinion.

The new mode that coming in Endwalker that might replace Feast seems to change alot of things that should help with this problem. They have already said that they will change how the rewards are obtained and they are removing class restrictions so it should be easier to gain matches and more people would be interested in playing smaller scale PvP if for example the new reward system would mean that the current top 100 system would be gone

There has been quite a few threads about this. So I'm going to give an input on this.

Implementing rank decay will only solve the issue for those that are platinum rank and up. It's not going to solve the issue of there being dead games if you're lower than gold. It's not going to help the lower queues out.

My suggestion is more brutal, but I think it's reasonable. I would like to see bronze be automatic when you start feast instead of having to grind a few games to earn that rank with the trade off that everyone takes a full penalty for losing their games, regardless of rank.

In my data center when i was below gold i didnt waited more than 10 minutes for a match as healer after i entered gold the queue times increased significantly and i all my games in gold were with people in platinum. The last 3 days i am siting in queqe for hours and not a single match pops up while it says that the average waiting time is 5 mins which means that the lower bracket is just fine in my datacenter but gold and above is dead.
