Some of it feels stupid at times and can apply even for chat in some cases. Hell twitch has banned non english speaking streamers just because a word in their native language that was spoken during their stream sounded similar to one of the words on their offensive word list.

In the end not a single thing in this universe exists that doesn't have someone claiming it to be offensive. Rather than wasting all this effort trying to shield people from things they might find offensive, make it a point to teach people how to coexist with the things they don't like. Some places are taking this shielding to the level of trying to bury, hide, or erase dark blotches on their history because they say it offends people. In those cases I think it's good if it does and that makes it more important for it to remain in plain sight. Otherwise the same mistake is just going to be repeated later.
