FIX GARUDA!!!

Greetings everyone!

As Chardrizard mentioned, there is a thread on the Japanese forum where Yoshi-P commented on a couple things related to the Garuda battle, specifically about the black mage burn video that is floating around.

He discusses why it is currently possible:

In regards to the video, this is occurring due to the fact that the remaining HP percentage check is not being processed at the time of Garuda’s AI phase change. We are currently looking into fixing this.

And in regards to the battle itself:

I tried this same strategy myself, but it really isn’t as easy as it looks.

Exactly, we are seeing this as a result of pushing the limits of DPS and timing due to having equipment with multiple materia melded to it. Even though the video makes it look easy, it won’t go so well if you try to just follow it.

However, we did not set the battle up this way so that this strategy would be the fastest and it is an oversight on the developer’s end, so we will be looking into adjustments as much as possible so that various classes, jobs, and DPS rates can participate.

And finally, something some players might be worried about:

I obtained weapons and headdresses utilizing this method. Will I be banned for exploiting this?

This is an oversight on the developer’s part, so please do not worry about this. However, as this is not recommended, we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
