Transferring Worlds Now or Wait

So I've only been playing for a couple or three months, and I've created three characters, all on Aether. One has turned into a "main character" that I play most, on Siren.

I've been seeing messages that I can get a free Home World Transfer, since the two servers I play on, Siren and Faerie, are both congested.

Questions:

1. Should I wait until SE opens up new servers or worlds, before using these free transfers? But, how long would I be waiting, given the difficulty SE is having in locating server equipment, etc.?
   
2. Is there something...avoidable about Crystal worlds, given that they are the only "preferred" NA worlds right now?
   
3. Would it be possible to use the free transfers for all three of my characters, putting them on the same world (one currently on Faerie, the other two on Siren)? Is it just a matter of waiting 3 days between each request?

I'm just curious, seeking other opinions before I make a choice. Thanks!

Might wanna move now because they won't stay congested for long and if they stop being full the transfer will stop being free. And remember it's only free if your world is full AND you're moving to a preferred world.

I will tell you right now, there is NOTHING wrong with Crystal. The reason why it's preferred right now is because back when the third datacenter was created and the servers moved around, some people went around screaming that Crystal won't be able to clear raids or even normal dungeons because they have Balmung and Mateus (ew!!! Rpers!) and that Aether/Primal is where you NEED to be if you want to get anything done. So instead of actually looking into things, people just believed them and piled onto Aether/Primal.

I can assure you that we can both raid and do dungeons. And yes there are a lot of rpers here and on Balmung the Quicksands can become a cesspool but none of that stops us from getting through content. If anything it means we have so much more we can do while waiting for reset.

I agree, never had any problems on Crystal. mind you, I dont spend a lot of time off Zalera.

Crystal has a reputation as not being a raiding data center, but it's not true, you can join a static on there and it's fine and you can farm extreme and savage on there and the parties are good. I definitely would recommend Zalera as one of the healthiest worlds for that sort of content. Balmung was congested for years so it's got a lot of burned out veterans that already did everything, while the other worlds have let in enthusiastic sprouts that have created strong, well-run free companies.

Crystal is fine. The reputation keeps the most of the players with trash attitudes out of Crystal and on Aether/Primal where they can pretend to be hardcore and edgy.

Congested/Standard/Preferred statuses are used to try to balance world populations. The influx of new players following their favorite streamers from WoW to FFXIV funneled to mostly Aether but also Primal because that's where the streamers went. Crystal's current active population ended up lower in comparison so SE set Crystal worlds to preferred to try to balance out the populations again.

There are still plenty of players here clearing EX and Savage, though it can be a bit more difficult to get a group for Ultimate if that's one of your goals.

I guess the big question is why do you want to transfer? Are there problems you're encountering on your current worlds that you're hoping to avoid? Those same problems might exist on all worlds.

Transferring might get you a couple of bonuses but it may not solve whatever problems you're trying to escape.

Crystal is the friendliest datacenter in my opinion. That being said, from LuckyBancho and log statistics it seems to be overwhelmingly the data center with the fewest savage clears (see the chart below). So it kinda depends on what you want from a server. I think that if you play for social reasons then Crystal would be the best choice, but if you're a serious raider then Aether might still be the best for you? Good luck with your decision

I guess the big question is why do you want to transfer? Are there problems you're encountering on your current worlds that you're hoping to avoid? Those same problems might exist on all worlds.

Transferring might get you a couple of bonuses but it may not solve whatever problems you're trying to escape.

Mostly, I thought this might be a good time for me to transfer, since I'm still relatively new to the game, with no free company attachments etc., and I have characters on two worlds in Aether and thought this might be a free way to get them onto the same world.

Plus, I might want to create new characters, and I can't do that on congested worlds, so I'm going to need a new home world. I'm also partly hoping I wouldn't have filled queues and wait times when trying to log in like I have on my Aether worlds.

Thanks to everyone in this thread, I'm probably going to go ahead and choose a Crystal world. I'm not hardcore into endgame play anyway, so clearing things at max difficulty isn't my #1 concern. Mostly, I like the general rpg elements and the story, and solo play not counting the many instances required for story/level progress. When I chose Aether at first, it was because I thought I might want to go hardcore into the endgame content—haven't done that in years, in another game—so I wanted to keep my options open. But now I think it's not going to be a big issue for me.

Primal is for people that want to be on Aether but cannot get in
